Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave — Restaurant in Tacoma

I work a night shift at Tacoma General Hospital. I have been here several times to pick up food for my coworkers and I. One time about a month ago I placed an order an hour and a half before posted closing time. I arrived an hour before close to pick it up, but shop had been closed up and everyone had left. When my coworker tried to dispute the charge on her credit card (it was over $60!!), the resteraunt responded that we did receive the food. This is a highly unethical way to do business and I will be sharing this with all of my health care coworkers to avoid this place. I'm very disappointed. I also want to add that the last time I ate here before this incident, the food was not as good as it used to be. I don't know what happened to this place, but I'm sad. Speaking as a night shift healthcare worker, there are simply not a lot of good options for late night dining in Tacoma. They are trying to reply and say that this didn't happen, but it did. The name on the order was not mine, but Monique W. I also have a photo of the closed resteraunt that I sent to her and proof that her order was canceled that I can add. This includes a time stamp. So not only would they not give her her money back, but they actually sent out a text saying that her order was canceled... a fact that I forgot all about until searching for this photo...

I write a lot of reviews of places I grab some food, I have been in the store for beer, lottery. ..etc,,so I decided to try the Joy Teriyaki for the 1st time, I got the Chicken Teriyaki, try simple 1st, order it,went next door for beer, came back in minutes and my order was done, I saw this small sealed container, $15 bucks later got home and. had shoe leather chicken, tasteless rice and wilted cabbage with a piece of carrot and broccoli, the meal let's say was a disappointment, I thought I would try them, that's the last time, I'm mad I didn't just go even closer to my house, and see MI at Bento Box, absolutely the best food in the area they take their preparing their food, and it is abundant in flavor..... .my dinner tonight. ..I ate half and pitched the rest, but...

I would give this restaurant a 4 star if it wasn't a hit or miss. When I went there a couple of times, their curry katsu had the right consistency and fresh rice. And their spicy chicken was tender and filled sufficiently with spices so as to not make it dry. But lately on 2 occasions, I got a curry katsu that was so watery that I wondered if I had mistakenly ordered katsu soup. On a separate occasion, I got a spicy chicken special that tasted bland and rough as if the meat has been sitting the whole day before they used it. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this restaurant for a while because consistency is key, and it seems like the quality of the food is dependent on who is working that day.
