I absolutely love Greek/Mediterranean food, and had been very excited to try this place. For my first visit, I went with the "build your own bowl" option, and it was amazing. I got the saffron Jasmine rice, with spicy lamb meatballs & sweet potatoes (half & half for the main protein), plus lots of veggies, dips, and sauces. Everything was so good, and I loved it so much I'd get the exact same things again. There was one particular staff member (manager I'm assuming) who was very nice and helpful and made sure we got all the dips & sauces and everything we wanted to try. Oh yeah, we also shared some of the pita chips with crazy feta dip, and that was super good too. I got the cucumber mint lime juice, and it was very good, a nice compliment to my somewhat-spicy bowl. I had 1 refill in-store, and 1 more refill to-go, and I rarely finish a drink like that while still eating. Will definitely add this place to my list of favorites!
UPDATE Two years later, and Cava has remained a favorite spot in town, not only for myself, but my mom, sister and I have shared many lunches together here. It's absolutely one of our go-to spots, and even use it as currency sometimes (i.e. - I'll say to my sister, "Yeah, I'll help with X-Y-Z, but you owe me a Cava bowl!) Never ever had a bad meal. Love everything...
Read moreMy sister raves about CAVA after having it up north. We knew it was new to Tallahassee so we waited a bit before ordering. The ordering process was fine, food was ready (almost) on time. What disappointed us most was the portion size as you can see here. The bowls were all below the fill line and not NEARLY what was advertised on their website. The extra sides of sauce we’re barely half full (pictured here) and we’re over $3 EACH. We were also missing pita with all three of our bowl orders. We gave it a fair shot, but I’m afraid to say this place will probably not make it very long, especially in a college town in this economy. I also want to note I work in marketing, so I understand the importance of a fair review after giving a business ample opportunity to impress me. However, I don’t think I would want to give this another change based on the amount of money we spent for a family order and how little food we received. We were excited to try it but ended up thoroughly disappointed. Think twice before spending money here, especially if you have an appetite aka not enough food. CAVA, please consider these reviews if you want remain in business here in...
Read moreI'm back again to tell y'all about another amazing place, to food!! If you haven't made it to try CAVA yet, what are you waiting around for!!! Go by and holler at my boy Mike, ask him for suggestions on what sauces are good to mix and match with the protein you picked. So far, I'm in love with the chicken for my protein. The guys are pretty big on lamb, braised and meatballs. There's definitely options for everyone. If you like to eat your heat, you can do that to!! Go down the line and select your different options to satisfy your spicy little taste buds! I love adding tzatziki and crazy feta to my bowl! The crazy feta gives me just the right amount of heat, without killing my mouth (I can be a spice wimp sometimes). My 20 year old son, on the other hand... He loves.. I mean loves hot everything so if it says it's spicy it's going in the bowl, and it did!! I'm already singing CAVA's praises! It's my family's new hot spot. We just ate there for the first time on Sunday and we already went back today!! It's just that good!! Make CAVA your new...
