The restaurant has only been opened since February of 2024, & it looks 80 years old. There was no atmosphere to speak of nor any kind of welcoming feeling upon our arrival. We wanted to experience a different "New York style" pizza place, & as a New Yorker, I can say this place missed the mark terribly! There was no red sauce to speak of on our pizza. There was no Italian sausage on the menu, & the meat substitute tasted/smelled tainted. The pizza dough was flavorless, & the pizza was served cold with no oregano, cheese or red pepper on the table. The garlic buns were served cold, they were difficult to separate & they were very dry. We asked if they could pour a little more sauce/olive oil over them, & they came back to our tabie with small pats of butter on the tops which did nothing for the interior or bottoms if the buns. The paper plates we were provided for the buns were practically see through & very small & flimsy. We each ordered two beers & were unaware they were $6 each, as the prices weren't listed on the menu. We weren't offered cold mugs for our beers & the bottles weren't cold. In the hour+ we were there, we were the only patrons that dined in with only a handful of others coming in to pick up their to go orders. None of them seemed to have a rapore with the front service counter, nor did they seem excited to take their food with them. There was no ambiance or welcoming feeling in the restaurant. The man I believe must have been a manager or owner sat in a back dining room with another man that appeared to be a family member or business acquaintance & they both seemed deep in conversation with skowels on their faces, while whispering amongst themselves & it was uncomfortable for me when I interrupted them as I was innocently looking for the restroom. The best part was our evening was our server, who was young, polite, professional & attentive. For a Friday evening, the place should have been busier, except it was dead perhaps because of the weird & sad vibes in the restaurant. Our basic dinner was $60 for the two of us, and the experience was so lackluster we won't be returning...
Read moreAs a native New Yorker and Tallahassee transplant of 5 years, I felt obligated to come on here and leave this gem of a pizzeria the best review I could.
I have had pizza from many, many pizzerias in town here.. basically any pizzeria you can name local to Tallahassee, and this pizza is BY FAR the BEST NY style Pizza I’ve had since moving from NY to FL.
I was lucky enough to grow up eating the best of the best pizza back home in NYC, so when I left 5 years ago and moved here, it only added to the homesickness just how… not as good as NY the pizza here in town is, to put it gently.
Fast-forward 5 years of searching for a really good slice here in Tallahassee, and I stumbled upon Milano Pizza. I could go on for days of how authentic this pizza tastes to a good NY slice. The sauce, the crust, the cheese, everything about this slice reminds me of home, so much that I’ve eaten it 3 times since discovering it just last week.
I have very high standards for pizza—by no fault of my own and solely because I grew up with the best of it—and while I don’t want to name names, the… other pizzerias in town don’t hold a candle to Milano Pizza. Thank you, Milano Pizza, for the slice that...

In the hour we were there a handful of customers came in to pick up carry out orders. Atmosphere was dark, sterile & depressing. Waitress was young, attentive & jovial & was the only redeeming factor for us. Owner and his partner or family member sat in a back dining room with worried expressions on their faces, while they whispered amongst themselves for quite some time. Pizza came to us cold, dough was flavorless, & no Italian sausage was offered on the menu. Substitution pizza topping meat smelled tainted. Garlic buns were also served cold & were incredibly dry. We asked for a bit more olive oil and they poured a small amount of butter on them which didn't help. Paper plates left on table for the buns were very small, thin & flimsy.
