Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille — Restaurant in Tallahassee

OVERALL - Terrible experience. We had to order a pizza for the family from another restaurant to eat after 3+ hours at this restaurant. Last night, we came here for a family reunion and had 6pm reservations on the patio to watch the sunset. We arrived on time and reminded them of our patio request. They were obviously behind. We waited for over 45 minutes PAST our reservation. A peek in the back patio revealed half the tables were empty. We missed the sunset and again asked about the outside table to which the hostess seemed surprised we wanted the outdoor table. An hour past our reservation we were seated.

Things really took a tumble downwards with dinner service. It took forever to receive our drink orders. We were also informed they ran out of bread AND rice (a staple to most of their plates). We ordered three appetizers (calamari, grouper fingers, and crab cakes). After finally receiving or drinks we then ordered our main course.

The appetizers came out and were put on the the table. The crab cakes and the grouper fingers were good but not exactly hot. The calamari was cold and the breading was soft, soggy and flavorless. Quite a disappointment.

The main course arrived nearly an HOUR after we ordered it. As the waitress started to serve the food plates, she told one of our guests, “you’re going to be upset but they aren’t going to fry anymore food.” AN HOUR AFTER TAKING OUR ORDER, THEY TELL US THEY WONT BE MAKING HER A MEAL while serving the other orders. To top it off, the food served was COLD. I had ordered the shrimp and scallops. The scallops were flavorless and chewy. The shrimp was seasoned good but the entire plate, to include the potatoes were cold. The sauce was sitting for so long that it had begun to congeal. Absolutely inedible and disappointing.

The manager was apologetic and did not require us to pay for the uneaten meal or the appetizers. The kitchen staff needs an overhaul and some sort of supervision on their expediting. Why would anyone stop food service halfway into the night??

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time.

1. Unacceptable and undue delay in being seated WITH a reservation. Confusion and disorganized host/hostess staff.
2. Waitress was swamped and had too many tables.
3. Long delay on all ordering and with drink/food service.
4. Lack of seasoning and expected quality for the cost of the appetizer food items.
5. Many ingredients and food items not available (bread, rice, and breading for frying seafood dishes.......at a seafood restaurant).
6. Failed to make a meal after waiting ONE HOUR for the meals. No warning or offer to make another plate upon meal delivery.
7. Most of the meals were lukewarm or...

On 12/12/2021 I contacted the restaurant to set reservations for that following Saturday for a large party to celebrate my birthday. I spoke with a host by the name of Maria (I believe) who informed me that they do not make reservations and was told that they have something in place at the time I wanted to arrive at 6:00pm. After getting to a point of scheduling a time she recommended I come at 4:00pm and proceeded to take my information. Minutes later I received a text stating I made reservations for 4pm for 12/19/2021. I was confused as to why it even stated that if I could not make reservations to begin with, so I contacted the restaurant back and the same host seemed confused about anything I was asking, and I eventually spoke with a manager by the name of Josh. Josh took care of the issue and stated he put me down for 6pm for that following Saturday and apologized for any miscommunication between the host and I and that he's working to improve that.

Day of 12/19/2021: My guest and I arrive and inform the host at the front that we were there for the 6:00pm "reservation" that Josh (the Manager) put down for us. Once again, I was told that they do not make reservations and they cannot hold tables. I was completely confused because that was not what I was told from Josh. Of course, he wasn't present, and I was told he's out of town. So, they offered to give us a high-top table close by the bar due to the table they could've sat us at was still being occupied. As the night goes on the party is still sitting at the table but wasn't planning to leave any time soon. The main problem was I had a party of 12 and the table we were sitting at did not accommodate a party of 12. So, we were told to wait until the party leaves which did not happen when they thought. Meanwhile, there was a miscommunication with our waitress because she did not know what to expect so she never brought us anything until after a 2 hour wait of us sitting and waiting and eventually being told we were not able to move anymore. The food took another hour (which we understood it would take some time for a party of 12) but not an hour! Then it was lukewarm for a lot of our guest. Our drinks took just as long. It wasn't fair to us at all because there was other guest with large parties who received their food before us and there was a larger party that came after us that was able to be seated at the table we were waiting to sit at after waiting only 30 minutes. It was just pure chaos! I will never go back to Harry's! I am so...

Listen guys this is my 3rd time coming here to Harry's. Tonight I went to celebrate my two Best friends birthday..Tammy and Shameka.🥳🥳🥳🥳

They are very special to me so I wanted to take them somewhere Special....I decided to take them to Harry's!

I was so glad I did...only thing is tonight was Super busy!😩

We decided to sit outside on the patio..it was really nice because we all sat there and was able to watch the sunset 🌇 😀 Wowww that was special.

Sebastian was our server who took very good care of us...

We ordered friend Green Tomatoes and Shrimp Spinach dip for our Appitizers. #Yum the fried Green Tomatoes were zesty and delicious 😋 the cheesy Shrimp dip was good but a little on the watery side for me...it came with crispy bread pieces

For our entrées we ordered 2 Market Pastas and the Grouper fingers platter with corn masque chou and fries....the Market pasta had Chicken, Shrimp, spinach, bacon in this creamy delicious sauce..and it was a HUGE portion..#Jesus....it was enough for 2 people! ( I cannot wait for in the morning so I can warm some up for breakfast 🤦‍♀️🥴🤣 )

Everything was on point besides the service being a little slow because they were super busy and I heard kitchen staff was a little low..

Next for dessert we ordered Oreo Beignes...Mannnnn these were absolutely delicious 😋 😍 😊...it made me want to order more....🤤😁

If u want somewhere to go and u have never been to Harry's..Listen u need to Wake up and Check this place out.. u might wanna call before u go. We had a 45 minute wait which was fine because we got a chance to take pictures on the stairway and benches with the beautiful Crepe Myrtle ...

This place was good to us tonight but please if you sit outside in the early evening bring a jacket! It started getting nippy out there the later the evening proceeded..around 9:30 pm
