3 minutes ago We are so disappointed by the experience we had last night. We made a reservation for 8pm for a family of four. One of the people in our party was celebrating his birthday and never had the great experience that Osaka is known for, so all us were excited. We arrived and had to wait for 30 minutes after being told it would be a few minutes because they were cleaning our table. Once sat at our table we were elbow to elbow with other guest. We waited another 30-45 minutes to get our food. While waiting two of the water glasses had floating foreign objects in it. We had to ask multiple times for refills. A single man at the table took the birthday guest's yum yum tray which made things even more uncomfortable as well as this guest speaking loudly on his cell phone during the entire dinner. When Chef Jackie Chan would give extras of something the same single man would become vocal to the Chef demanding him to give the extras to him. Once we all receive our completed portions to eat,the man took a to-go box and touch each one while coughing on the birthday guest. The chef made the waiter aware of the boxes being touched. Chef Jackie was great but very limited on the experience. Common phrases said over and over were you're very handsome, do you speak english, I'm Jackie Chan. The chef behind our Chef was much more active with his side of the table which I feel the single man guest made it challenging for him. There is plenty of food so don't worry about that. None of us completely finished. We got three fortune cookies due to the restaurant running out. Also,, there were only 4 chefs trying to cook for a restaurant that was was filled shoulder to shoulder in many different rooms.. The food was just okay and not worth the $150 we spent. Sorry Osaka, but I won't be coming back and I will make sure to let others know how bad the...
Read moreIt truly takes a lot for me to give a one star rating but here it is.....
This is a new location so it was neat and clean but the parking is terrible! The parking lot is small and the location is near some private residences with signs all over warning that violators will be towed. We ended up parking in McDonalds.....it wasn't a far walk but I didn't like having to park at another business.
I truly like the Hibachi style of dining and I think of it as an "experience" generally filled with overly happy Sous Chef's, entertainment and crowd involvement. Osaka was lacking in this department. Our chef made a joke or two but other than that, he did not engage with the crowd.
On the the food.....I felt the food was "rushed" and was lacking in that "Hibachi" style flavor. Some of my rice was still white so its clear that it wasn't fried on the grill long enough. I can't have onions and they said it wasn't a problem. However, instead of them cooking the vegetables and then taking my portion off before mixing the onions, he decided to cook the onions in all of the vegetables and then attempt to pick out my portion. I ended up with onions on my plate anyway. The "yum yum" sauce doesn't taste homemade. It tastes like it came straight from a bottle and I found that the noodles were a little bland. I also ordered some sushi and it was "ok" but I've gotten way better sushi in town. I expect to pay more for restaurant Hibachi, but I felt this restaurant was a little pricey. The lady that came to take the order for our drinks was very aggressive and not patient at all. I felt rushed throughout the entire "experience" and felt this was a complete waste of money. I will not be returning. Nagoya has my vote for the best in town and it's unfortunate that Osaka was a huge...
Read moreAfter stewing on this all night, I’ve decided to write a review. We came for dinner to celebrate my nieces non-traditional wedding, thinking this would be a nice thing. From the beginning, nothing but chaos. When paying these prices, I’d expect better…way better. No refills at all. We may have seen our server once. Within 10 minutes of the cook (who was the only pleasant part of the evening) finishing, we were handed to go containers. Our plates were completely full, no where to even put the containers down. A few minutes after this, the clean up staff starts taking stuff away. We were not even able to allow my niece to cut her wedding cake because they were busy and we had to go. My elderly mother with lots of health problems (including severe Parkinson’s which means she shakes so much its hard to hold a fork) was trying to eat her dinner, so we figured we could use that time to cut some cake to at least allow her guests to take some home. The glares we received were terrible, resulting in my mother feeling upset and not being able to eat anything. I boxed her food up and asked for a to go drink for her and was rudely told I can go to the bar to get one. Seriously??? I grabbed my mothers walker so I could assist her to get up. The rude glares continued because it took a few minutes for her to be able to stand. All of this and then when saying something about it and the response is “well we are busy”. I understand you are busy, I also understand that this is in no way acceptable. Not only was the service rude and unacceptable, but the way you treated the elderly is not ok. So thank you for not only upsetting my mother, but also ruining my nieces wedding evening…that she chose to spend with...
