We came to the township for the German night and were very excited. We were greeted by a doorman who was less than thrilled to be there and motioned with his hand for or licenses instead of a greeting. We shrugged it off and went inside to order from a employee who was less than friendly and unsure of what was on their menu. We came to find out they had run out of the viener schnitzel that they had raved about on facebook. It was sad, but we're good sports and order the pork schnitzel sandwich. We sat at a dirty table and had no interaction with any staff members for 10 minutes. So instead we moved to the bar hopping to gain our delicious beer from Deep Brewing. The one bartender came to our rescue with beer that was rather warm. Our food came out and mine had cabbage on it, after asking and being told it would not. When I asked the server, who was also our cashier, to have it exchanged I was told "there are no modifications to the menu". I asked him why he didn't tell me that and he shrugged. Saying "I thought we could" and asked for the table number and left. It turns out the food was delicious! The breading on the pork was wonderful and the meal was huge for the $15 which included delicious beer and undercooked red potatoes. I probably won't come back to this place, even though I enjoyed my meal. If your motto is "for the table, by the people", maybe the staff could be happier. There were very few employees and very few smiling faces and that's unfortunate for the patrons of this...
Read moreTownship used to be one of my go to places to go and enjoy a great beer but my last experience has left a really bad taste in my mouth. I was ordering drinks at the bar outside from the bartender Ryan with one of my friends. From the second we sat down he was kind of rude but we ignored it assuming it was just his personality. My friend walked to the inside bar to get a specific beer they did not have at the outside bar and when she came back outside Ryan then asked us to leave his bar. He said we were wasting space at his bar and if he was not gonna make money off of us he did not want us there. We were practically the only people sitting at the bar (so not wasting any space) but a lot of people were walking up to the bar ordering drinks. However, according to Ryan, people see my friend and I sitting there and think its "too crowded" to get a drink. I thought Ryan was kidding but he was dead serious. I work in this industry so i genuinely understand how frustrating missing out on one beer sale is but there are some things you just don't say to your customers. I felt extremely disrespected and couldn't believe that actually happened. i tried to order drinks from him after my friend finished her beer but he blatantly ignored us so i had to have a friend that i ran into at the bar buy me a round of drinks with my card. Ryan is not someone of good customer service and definitely not someone i would want to represent my...
Read moreEDITED TO ADD: We are so thankful for the hospitality at Township. The service is wonderful and all of the food we've had here is great. I'm a vegetarian and they were able to adjust the Cobb salad to not include meat. We are thankful for the responsivity of Township to our initial concern about kitchen timing. Unfortunately the timing is still a problem. But the food, location, and service are stellar!
LOVED the food here. Some good vegetarian options. Servers were kind. BUT the wait time was just insane. My meal came before my husband's and he told me to start. I completely finished (COMPLETELY. FINISHED) my meal, eating as slow as I could, before his arrived. And, he had only ordered the Cobb salad!!! There were apologies for this, but nothing else. We also had our summer Local cards and received the wrong discount (50% off instead of a free drink), which was quickly remedied. There were more than 8 servers working and fewer than 4 tables inside and outside. The delay on the food must have been in the kitchen. It was really WAY to long. We liked the food and will try again hoping for...
