EDIT: Thank you for replying to my review with advice on my ring. I understand that I did not do my due diligence to research to make sure I cared for my opal properly, but my review was based on the advice I was given. Regardless of the types of opal she was referencing, I still asked if it would be okay as an engagement ring for daily wear and her advice prompted me to go ahead and buy it. and the previous ring silvering in two days also frustrated me as it was more than $100. I did raise my review as I was frustrated in the moment and I’ve always had good experiences here before. I still removed a star just for these two experiences, though. However, I do appreciate the replacement I was offered as well as the advice on top of all the other good experiences i’ve had and other products I have purchase!
TL;DR: one of my rings tarnished two days after buying (over $100) and the replacement ring, the employee gave me incorrect information over a problem I specifically asked about the gem.
I’ve had many good experiences here but my last two experiences left me feeling not great. I’ve also heard they are not a great employer so I’m not feeling great about the business. I bought a replacement engagement ring here a few months ago after getting a bad ring from another company (it was temporary so I wasnt that irritated to by a new one, just annoyed it was so soon). I bought a gold plated ring and it started to silver TWO DAYS after purchase. We took it back to see if they could offer a refund. Luckily they offered to have it replated and return it to us or offer us an exchange. I chose to exchange to a silver ring bc I just needed something to wear every day and not worry about having to take it off every time I wash my hands. I wanted to get an opal but had heard from a previous jeweler that it was a poor every day choice as its super soft and absorbent. Should have listened to that jeweler. I asked the employee assisting me here if it would be okay and they said that it would be fine as it was a different type opal but yet it has yellowed not even two months later even though I never shower with it on or wear it washing dishes… literally just yellowed bc of hand washing. So I’m a bit frustrated with this company to say the least as my $30 rings have lasted me forever but my $100+ rings both tarnished so quickly. I dont live in tallahassee anymore but thought I ought to share my story to make sure you know your crystals and not just trust any employee’s opinion! I should have done my own research and it is my fault, but im just frustrated that the employee led me astray even tho I specifically asked about...
Read moreLiving in San Diego, I’ve received sound healing in the past, but it doesn’t even compare to the session I had at Crystal Portal. Upon walking into the shop, the energy alone was palpable (in the most beautiful way!) Ramin was able to create a safe, sacred space that allowed me to drop fully into the present moment.
I loved how before starting the session, he explained what to expect and told me how each of the bowls and instruments worked, including how they corresponded with each of the chakras (energy centers).
As soon as I sat down (before even laying on the table), I began releasing tears -- which I was NOT expecting to happen! But that’s the magic of saying YES to healing. Emotions are simply energy in motion, so allowing myself to fully feel was absolutely key. And I’m not sure that would’ve happened if Ramin hadn’t created such a powerful container.
All too often I get caught up in the story my mind creates, but as the sound healing took place, I was transported to a completely different dimension… one where I could drop out of my mind and into my body. It’s hard to express in words how it feels. It’s one of those things you hear about, but it isn’t until you experience it for yourself that you truly understand the power behind it. It’s like sound alchemy for your Soul.
I couldn’t recommend Crystal Portal enough! Especially for those who’re ready to take their healing journey to the next level and truly dive into the world of sound, spirituality and Soul retrieval. Thank you to Ramin and the Crystal Portal staff for such a beautiful...
Read moreI've purchased from here before but had a really negative experience last night that made me not want to return. It was First Friday, so of course very busy and crowded. But every single employee working last night was rude to us. As I was reaching to open the door, one employee poked her head out and asked my friend not to touch the plants - understandable request, but then she closed the door in my face. I asked her, "can we come in?" And was ignored. Not a good start. We then entered, two families with small kids. Again, it's understandable that a crystal shop would be nervous when children enter, but our kids were extremely well behaved, did not touch anything, and we weren't noisy. Every single employee (all college aged girls) gave us the stink eye throughout our visit - one girl just glared when I smiled at her - and it was obvious to all of us that they were watching us more than other guests. When we left, I clearly saw one employee look at another, nod her head to indicate us leaving, and give a thumbs up, to which the other girl nodded back and rolled her eyes. Like how dare we exist in that space, jfc. These might sound like small slights individually, but parents with young children are consistently looked down upon and dismissed in our society, and I'm done sitting back and letting it happen. I've worked in customer service for 10 years and have never treated anyone like that. These young employees clearly need to work on their basic customer service skills. I'll skip this shop and go back to Stone Age...
