I typically do not write reviews unless I feel it is absolutely necessary; either to tear apart an establishment that has slighted me, or praise one that has provided me with such an experience it warrants pouring my heart and soul onto the internet. Fortunately, for BoneFish Henderson location, it is the latter.
Let me start off by saying the day I decided to go to this particular location was a day I wished to forget....or so I thought. Once arriving I knew the only thing that would cheer me up would be a lovely plate of calamari. Bonefish has delectable calamari! As I struggle to bring myself into the building, the days events eating away at me, I begin to feel a ray of hope begin to brighten my cold dark soul. This was something I had never felt before - something....exciting! I did not let it over take me as I had been let down before when something random as a burst of happiness tried to penetrate my lonesome, miserable self. As I reach for the door it begins to open towards me as if it knew I needed any bit of assistance this day. A rush of confusion coursed through me and without any notice I look up in bewilderment and there it was....it was as if I was staring into the sun, but unable to look away. It was as if I was an orphan and finally got to experience christmas for the first time and I see that bright red bicycle I had alwasy wanted and prayed for daily. It wasnt a bike though that completely took my breath away, but a greek god like figure towering over me while also making me feel safe. I was lost in his eyes, entrapped in his essence, drunk on his musk, and knew I was finally safe from the days downfalls.
"Welcome to BoneFish! How many in your party?". I struggled to find the words as I studied his presence. Trying to figure out what to muster - all I could do was read his name tag; "Joey". After what felt like an eternity I finally said "Uhhhh, buhhh, 2 please...", "great! Give me a moment and we will get you seated. Luckily for you my favorite server AND table are available right now. I will see if I can seat you there." The fact he wanted me to enjoy his favorite server and table was enough to make an old man cry. What did I do to deserve such attention, why did he choose me? He must have known my day was one to forget...
"Right this way sir, you are lucky - I was able to get you seated at the best seat in the house." he said with a grin. Joey, Joey, Joey...you know how to treat you customers. You have this sense about you, you can read people and empathize emotionally without showing it. "By the way, the calamari today is especially good, and you look like a man who enjoy his calamari"....again, shock and awe and everything in between can not describe how amazed I was at this man suggesting the one thing I wanted more than anything in life at this time. This man Joey was meant to brighten lives. He was meant to bring light to those who have only ever known darkness. His demeanor was something one only reads about, but still kept a mysterious way about him.
With all of this being said, Joey was a top notch fella in a bottom drawer society that may be a wizard or something. Not entirely sure, it still keeps me up at night. Regardless, I’d come back to this establishment just to be sat by Joey Chobani - the greek sun god...
Read moreI took my father and my family here tonight at 630 to celebrate his 80th birthday. We were seated quickly but that’s the last of the good experience. It took 10 minutes before someone showed up to our table to even say hello, and it was a young lady who said it wasn’t her table but she would get us started. We were placing drink orders and a young man shows up and rudely tells the lady that this is his table and he would take care of us. He took our drink and appetizer orders and disappeared. It was 10 minutes later I got up and went looking for a manager. It took another 3 minutes to find him and by that time 25 minutes had passed. We hadn’t been served our glass of wine and simple mixed drink or even had our dinner order taken yet. My family had already gotten up and walked out and then the manager shows up with our drinks. I told him exactly what I wrote here and that we were leaving to find another place to eat. He didn’t do much at all just said he understood. My father wanted fish for his birthday so we quickly looked on google to find another place nearby and found Shells Restaurant a few blocks away. We walked in, got seated, and the waitress was right there to serve us. Shells turned this horrible night into a good one. Not sure what the problems were at Bonefish but they were not even busy, only half the tables were full, same at Shells. Think twice before visiting Bonefish. We certainly will never return. terrible service and it’s like they...
