In my opinion, the best pho has a delicious beef broth, slightly sweet with mild spices in the background accompanied by several thin slices of tender beef, onions, cilantro, thai basil, bean sprouts and jalapeno slices. A side of hoison and sriracha for customizing your soup and/or for dipping your beef pieces.
Pho 813 broth is very good and tasty. Because I am used to it at my favorite Vietnamese joint in NY I prefer my beef to be placed raw into the piping hot broth and it cooks while I am stirring the soup. At Pho 813 my beef arrived fully cooked. Still good though and they provide a fair amount of beef unlike, say Bamboozle. Pho 813 is better overall in my opinion.
My 2 recommendations for Pho 813 are: Less noodles, more broth. My order was loaded with noodles. More and fresher side items (thai basil (I got one small twig with 4-5 small leaves) and my bean sprouts were brown and old looking and also a small portion. I like the crunch the sprouts give to the pho.
This restaurant has a friendly enough, efficient staff including a robot server cart which brought our pho condiments. First time for me seeing one. We watched it bring another couple their check. The restaurant was clean and had an average dining...
Read moreI saw Pho 813 pop up and thought I give it a try. It has a nice decor outside and plenty of parking spaces. It also has a nice patio outside so you can enjoy your meal outdoors.
When I first walk into the restaurant, the place is well light and looks very clean. However, not one employee was Vietnamese and there were no Vietnamese customer. Based on that, I knew what to expect.
Given that it was very early, it wasn’t to crowded. I was seated quickly and was well taken care of quickly. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue as that is the dish I try in every new place I go.
The meal came out very quickly. Unfortunately I will say that it was not as hot as it should be. The condiments was not correct for the soup as it was for pho soup. The broth wasn’t bad. But the food is catered to Americans and younger generations. I know my American wife would like it. For me, it was not authentic Vietnamese food and the soup lacked so many ingredients that should be in a Bun Bo hue.
I would recommend this place for the new younger generation or American folk. However, i am sorry to say I would not look to this place if you want real authentic...
Read moreThis place is pretty ok. The food was good, I got beef Bun which are noodles surprisingly. Portions were plentiful and the food was tasty. The dish came with pork spring rolls that were frozen and reheated for sure, like I'm pretty sure I got them at Trader Joes before. That's not the end of the world though. What was rather disappointing was the state of the bathrooms. Cleaning products were just thrown under the sink in the men's room, like the bottles were not even standing. Which is strange, because they definetly weren't used. The mirror was covered in splashes and there is a painting infront of the urinal that your required to look at while peeing. This painting was crooked, the tape used to secure it to the wall was showing on one of its sides. I wish that was all that was wrong with it. There was at least a 2milimeter thick layer of dust all over the frame. Very visible while its the only thing you can look at as stated above. The waiter didn't even give me a pen with my bill, so I almost couldn't leave a tip. Good thing I...
