It was the night of the 4th. February. The afternoon was nice. The sky hues gifted me with the sight of a mellow orange and the clouds swept across the skyline as I drove into the parking lot of Duffy's. A powerful hunger was in my core; and I was desperate to be satiated. I met my brother who arrived shortly after my arrival and we proceeded inside. Eyes set on a table of appetizers and a few rounds of the suds that we'd use to wash away the worries of our day. As we say, we were greeted by Julisa; a youthful sprite of an attendant who's aura reminded me of the golden sunsets I would see off the cliffs of Tulum while on my adventures. After pondering the menu shortly she arrived to bequeath unto my brother and I her services. With a chipper hello and expeditious order taking routine, she helped me select my drink for the evening. A Bloody Mary. My brother? He had the beer. Large glass of course. After retrieving our bastions of forget-me-juice; Julisa; who I'll forever remember, took our orders. A smattering of appetizers were to accompany us on our food adventure for the evening. Gridiron Nachos, some Ginger Wings, a side of Buffalo Cauliflower and some egg rolls from Texas-Mexico that had the internal consistency of what I can only imagine true love to be. During the following moments, Julisa was always at the ready, replenishing our drinks and ensuring we didn't stray from our goal of gorging our stomachs and wetting our sorrows.
As the drinks began to pile up reminiscent of a Viking warriors funeral; we found ourselves never being neglected. Amazing, since the establishment had several other patrons demanding attention as well. Like a true Dragon Born warrior, Julisa attended to not only my Brother and I, but the other patrons who demanded her attention. Her smile never breaking; her demeanor unflinching. She gifted us all with the nourishment we all craved; and even recommended additional selections... all of which had to be declined due to the limitations of my sobriety and stomach capacity.
I will return. When the day's are long; and the stressors of every day life become too heavy to carry, I will return. And I can only hope that my new friend will be there to greet me and care for our...
Read moreStopped in before a concert at RJ stadium. Well within walking distance. We sat at the bar as usual. We got there around 12:30 or 1 on a Saturday. Plenty of seats available. We planned on staying until we headed to the concert at 5ish and by the time we left people had rudely squeezed in between the bar stools so we were jammed in like sardines. One lady even had STAFF get her a stool and she slammed it between me and the person next to me. Why do humans have to be so dang rude? You can ruin someone's entire experience at a restaurant when you do stupid stuff like this. Wait for a space or wait for a table. Don't wedge yourself into a space not meant for you. And STAFF should never had allowed this.
WE ordered 2 beers, everything is 2 for 1 no kidding, and 44 oz (total) of beer was $11. Not too shabby. We then ordered a rail gin and tonic (also 2 for 1) which was $6 total. Nice! The wing sampler was 12 wings in 3 different sauces. All cooked well. Wings were wet with sauce and not dried out. The gumbo was good but had little spice to it. So I kicked it up with the in house hot sauce.
The food was great. The service was phenomenal and those ladies behind the bar were flying trying yo keep up with things. They worked well together and there was NO cattiness.
The place has more tv's than I could count. They will usually put something on for you if it isn't already on.
The bathrooms were very clean. Staff held the door for me which was a classy touch. There is no bathroom attendant this was just an employee being courteous to their patron.
So, all in all we loved our time here. There is nothing they could have done to make our experience any better. The other patrons.......
Read moreGreat, casual and clean place to stop for a bite to eat, watch sports on the numerous large TVs around the restaurant and have some cheap drinks! We stopped in for lunch on a Monday afternoon after some shopping. The restaurant and bar were pretty busy to our surprise given the time of day but even still we were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess and taken to our table. Our server Sara came by quickly to introduce herself and get our drinks going. My boyfriend was thrilled to find out they had 2 for 1 big draft beers, which he thoroughly enjoyed! We ordered the skybox burger and drafthouse salad. The food came out in good time and my boyfriend’s burger was prepared just how he asked (points there since food preparation seems to be a challenge for some places especially when they’re busy). My salad was huge with generous toppings and if you’re a Ranch dressing lover they’ve got your back, it’s delicious. The value of the food and drinks are great, good portions for the price and tasty too. Can’t beat 2 for 1 drinks either! I was most impressed by the overall service, attitude and attentiveness of our server Sara especially since she appeared to be the only one on shift at the time. She did an awesome job handling all the customers in the bar and dinning area. The manager on duty, Nazzi, also stopped by to check on us and the other tables in the dinning room, so from top to bottom they were on it with service during our visit. Oh! And I almost forgot we also found out about their MVP loyalty program which has lots of ways to earn and redeem rewards so we definitely plan to come back for happy hour on a Tuesday to earn Double Points with...
