EDIT: seeing the response, no I'm not going to call your number so you can make it right. You destroyed valentines day. You dont need to be talking to me, you don't exist anymore in my book. You need to talk to whoever trains your employees or figure out why you don't have a manager on site. Figure it out. Don't try paying me off when it's too late, that's just so sleazy.

Good place to go if you want a good day ruined. Disappointed to say after 12 years eating here, I advise people to stay away or risk being accused of lying by someone who is maybe a manager? Friday Feb 14th, whoever was working outside, Jackie, totally botched our order. She gave us warm sodas in a bottle. We had to ask for ice and glasses. We didn't get our appetizer until that came after all the food. We ordered two burgers well done, and they were both red inside. That's not necessarily on Jackie. The infuriating and unacceptable issue came when we sent them back, showing Jackie they were pink, and then Sarah, who first identified herself as an assistant manager, came out and told us she looked at them and they weren't pink and that's what well done burgers look like. Until my dying days i will never forget being told by someone completely lying and apparently accusing me of lying. The attitude has no place in service, and I've never experienced this in my life - being told no, I just can't see the meat, and I was lying if I said it was pink. I almost called the police. I cannot believe you have an assistant manager (other employees told me there was no manager, so I'm not sure who she was) working here who has the daft arrogance to tell customers who are being mis served that they were simply incorrect and didn't know the color of meat. The name of the assistant manager is Sarah. No place in management or did service. Apparently that's what you get at Gaspar's now, run into the ground. When I asked her to speak to the manager Sarah left for a while, then came back and said there actually is no manager right now. I asked to see the burgers and she said they already threw them out. I was ready to call TPD to go to the garbage to show her we are not stupid enough to be bullshitted like that. Disgraceful and embarrassing. You better get your customer service together or this place is done. What a disgraceful experience. She then didn't bring us to go boxes, and poor Jackie had to bring those late. Then when those came they had hair on them. I wouldn't blame Jackie, whomever Sarah is has no place near food or customers. Potential customers - avoid at all cost. Their attitude here is, we are right, you're always wrong. That should immediately put them out of business for daft...

We were just finished doing a group thing for my husbands workplace. We'd walked to this bar to cool down with drinks and a quick bite. We were a group of eight (all couples). The waitress asked if we were splitting the bill. We said yes, we were all couples. When she finally came to take our order (they had very little patrons) she asked again about splitting the check (we told her again, no big deal). She said she said she needed to get her pad and pen to take our orders. She returned about ten minutes later and asked as she was taking orders which of us were couples to separate the bill. We told her as she took our order. We noticed she was drawing a line between each couples order. She mentioned it was her birthday. We all said "happy birthday!". Another 20 minutes went by and we finally got our drinks, which we quickly drank and ordered another round (we were pretty parched at this point and didn't know how long it'd take to bring the next round of drinks). About 30 minutes later the food arrived. I'd ordered beans and rice (because I'm a vegetarian). The waitress put a basket of fries in front of me and said verbatim "We're all out of beans and rice, so I ordered you fries.". I said "oh, okay thanks.". She asked again who was on who's tab. We all started looking at one another like hmmmm, but we told her again. Once we finished she brought the bill and asked again about who was together. At this point we were wondering if she was celebrating while working?🥴😵‍💫🍹🍸🚬 LOL I'm unsure if she forgot what the lines meant between each order or what happened. She proceeded to go through each thing we ordered and asked us who had what to eat and drink. Once again everyone looked very puzzled. Even after that she missed 3 items ringing us up and we each ended up paying again. P.S....Gratuity was already added to the bill. I understand it was her birthday and everyone has bad days but, don't think we'll be...

I like themed bars and restaurants. They often have more to offer and are more memorable than an ordinary place for food and drink. I was in Tampa, Florida not long ago, searching for a place for drinks in Ybor City and the nearby establishment that was recommended online more than any other was Gaspar’s Grotto.

This Tampa establishment is a pirate themed bar and this fact is more than evident the moment you walk inside. The walls are covered with pirate paraphernalia, pictures of ships, and other things related to pirates. There are statues, too, and with so much to look at, it is very easy to get distracted and lose focus.

Gaspar’s Grotto is more than just a bar- it is a restaurant as well and it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Many who visit here go for the Cuban sandwich or one of the pizzas. The centrally located bar is convenient for guests and the bartenders can mix up anything you like to wash down the food. I was more than pleased when I discovered the respectable number of local beers on tap. There is an outdoor patio at Gaspar’s Grotto also and it is common to find live entertainment, for added fun.

A visit to Gaspar’s Grotto will likely standout for the pirate theme more than anything else, but the other standout feature is the prices. The drink prices are lower than those of surrounding bars and the food prices are more than reasonable, too. I was pleasantly surprised when I visited and discovered such quality beer offered for such a fair price.

Themed bars are fun and Gaspar’s Grotto is certainly a fun place to visit. I took the advice of people online and visited Gaspar’s Grotto at their recommendation and I came away satisfied. The atmosphere, prices, and service all rate better than average and it earns an easy...

Great entertainment, poor food quality and service. I'll start with the positives. The guy they have come in on Saturday nights that runs trivia is very entertaining and does a great job. They also have a decent beer menu including several local crafts. I would stay away from the Gaspar's Grotto exclusive beers though (I'll get to that later). Service took forever and it took over an hour from after we ordered to when we actually got our food. I ordered the chicken doubloons which ended up being dry as can be frozen chicken tenders with no citrus BBQ chipotle sauce on side. I asked for the sauce and got some form of garlic parmesan handed to me. Certainly not marinated and so dry I could've chipped my tooth biting into it since it was so dry and tough. See the photo below, it was certainly not medallions of chicken. Fiancée ordered the large shrimp and crab quesadillas, they gave her the appetizer version. (It was pretty much just the meat with cheese and way too much old bay poured inside so it was all salt. Brother got the pork plate. Pork was so fatty that he had to separate it while eating and half his portion ended up being inedible pork. I ordered Free Dive for a beer and my second round of drinks, I ordered it again and got some random metallic tasting red beer. Looking over the menu, I figured out it was their Peg Leg Red exclusive beer which is one of the worst beers I've ever tasted, however, since service was so bad and infrequent, I would've been there all night if I tried to exchange it. At that point after not even touching my chicken, I needed something to eat and made the much wiser choice to walk down one block to Due Amici to eat actual food.
