Coyote Ugly Saloon — Restaurant in Tampa

We went down for Ybor to attend the Cuban sandwich festival. All was well until we walked into Coyote Ugly to grab a street beer and were greeted by two unattractive women behind the bar. The bar is dark, depressing and dank. There were only middle aged men drinking at the bar. Shocker!

A regular or as I like to call him, a drunk, slouched at the end of the bar as one of the bartenders informed us that children could not be in the bar. Without hesitation I walked out of the bar as one the bartenders said something in a smartass tone, but this is what you have to expect from someone squeezed into leather lingerie, muffin top and all. I shrugged my shoulders at her and I could tell I had insulted her. The woman basically shunned me for daring to bring my child in a bar. I had just come from the Drunken Monkey with other families with their children.

We walked by the bar again to walk back home and the drunk from Coyote Ugly starts mouthing off at my husband and starts following us for 2 blocks. Keep in mind this guy is wasted and I have a 4 year old with me. After my husband scared him off and by scared him off I mean, the guy basically ran away after he realized my husband was going to knock his head off.

One of the locals informed us that the guy starts drama and fights nearly every weekend. The drunk threatened to get his friends that never showed up to beat my husband up in front of my 4 year old.

the place is really cute, a lot of nostalgia for anyone who’s seen the movie. i was really excited to come here, it’s my fav movie and they did well with the decor. drinks were okay priced (about 6 bucks for well and 8 bucks for a single tito’s). with that being said- the bartender tonight (didn’t get a name) who had brown hair and was in the pink santa costume had a terribleeee attitude. towards every customer and the other bartenders. the girl with curly hair and denim shorts who was dancing on the bar had accidentally knocked over the menu while dancing and the other bartender gave her a nasty look and aggressively shoved the menu back. the whole interaction with her was AWFUL. honestly kinda ruined our night. but we went over to the other bartender after she was done dancing and she was the sweetest thing, the other bartenders can take notes. overall- left coyote ugly disappointed in the service (other than the one bartender), the bouncer was also rude but not nearly as bad as the first bartender we encountered. very disappointed in the service, so won’t return due to that. if they reevaluated their bartender’s service skills id love to make better memories here, but after tonight it just put a bad taste in my mouth. there’s several other bars inspired by coyote ugly that i’d rather try than deal with the service we had tonight by the one bartender, i do want to stress how amazing the other girl was and wish i had gotten her name to give her proper...

I am not from Florida, so I was really looking forward to going to coyote ugly. I figured it would be upbeat, lively, fun, polite girls dancing and pouring drinks. It was not this at all… And it wasn’t that me, and my girlfriends weren’t tipping them we were all buying drinks & I was tipping them money. Me and my girlfriends are having a great time. It was actually the girls that were working that I was pretty disappointed with. They were rude. So rude one of my friends wanted to leave. They were not polite by any means. They were still learning dances. I hate to use this word, but they were just stuck-up. They weren’t appreciative of my tips. I don’t expect the girl to say oh my gosh thank you blah blah blah but a nice smile or nod would be nice. Me and my friends REGRET going there we probably shouldn’t have even of tip them because they weren’t fun, they weren’t lively, straight up just impolite. I was heavily disappointed. I came to have a great time and the girls were rude and acted like they didn’t want anyone at their bar. I asked one of the staff members how I should tip them, and he looked at me like I was stupid, so I will not be returning. My friends thought the exact same. That bar actually ruined our good moods!!!! Not at all what I thought it was gonna be! So...
