I say it in all of my pizza reviews. I'm a pizza guy. Love pizza. Was really looking forward to this place when I was looking for places in downtown Tampa. Had good Google reviews. Unfortunately, this place was a big let down. Pizza was pretty average at best. I was surprised considering how well this place was reviewed. I personally didn't think it was that good. Especially considering the price for 1 pepperoni pie was $30! I think that's the most ive ever paid for a pizza and for it to not be that good after paying that it was a let down. The reason I'm rating the service low is because the place was pretty dead. There was my family of 4 and 2 other couples at other tables in the place. We placed a very simple order of 1 pepperoni pie and 1 slice of lasagna (also very expensive, in my opinion, at $20). We got the pizza pretty quickly. Waited 5,10,15, probably close to 20+ minutes and still no lasagna. We asked how much longer a most of us were almost done eating pizza. They guy lied and said "it takes time". Well its been over 45 minutes since we ordered at this point. Apparently they didn't even make the lasagna but instead of saying that they were going to rush it through and give it to us. We asked for a refund and they gave it to us. But poor service considering the place was not busy and there were more employees there than customers so they weren't understaffed. The other small complaint is I asked for a glass of water after spending $100 and them not making the Lasagna we ordered and was told they can sell me a bottled water. Now this is more of a personal complaint. Most places I go a glad of water is free but maybe it's different here. But considering I had spent the amount I did on food and drinks and their mistakes I didn't expect a request of water to be an issue. Final verdict, there are probably much better pizza places in Tampa. I should have asked around first. Don't go here unless you want to over pay for average pizza. Like I said my pie was $30 and they sell a slice...
Read moreWould love to leave a review, have eaten local pizza in all 50 states, and heard good things about this place⌠but apparently they donât serve basic pepperoni pizza. Disappointing. The slices I did see were floppy anyway, but itâs always a shame at the end of 18hrs of travel to get turned away from what should be an amazing meal.
Update based on the owner comment: Visit was around 11, line was 4 people long, inside was maybe 25% full, far from slammed. There was lots of pizza on display but all with odd toppings. I would have gladly purchased an entire pie, was not an option. I would have gladly waited 15-20 mins for pepperoni to come out, not an option. My impression was that they simply donât make it - hence the review. First time Iâve ever encountered that.
Clearly the owner is a bit snarky, so Iâll double down on the recommendation to avoid. Owners who are snarky to customers in reviews often engage in questionable shenanigans - have seen it over and over. I would expect something to correct the record like âYes, we serve pepperoni but often run out after 8pm, try to hit us up earlierâ because then that would be useful to folks who read this and maybe Iâd have given them another shot and updated with a taste review but hey. This isnât where I normally post reviews, but since itâs almost a non-review I figured this was better.
Ample other pizza within a block or so, all serving normal pizza (all had pepperoni, cheese, etc). I tried them all yesterday and would recommend the New York New York spot. Super friendly staff, incredibly fast, and a standard but...
Read moreDue Amici's in central Ybor city is a wonderful place to get great food and a variety of drinks at a reasonable price. The ambiance of this restaurant is enlightening the moment you walk through the door. The owner, Geo, really runs a very good show here. His large menu choices of pizza, salads and desserts are very appetizing. The restaurant which is located right in Central Ybor City, is one of the finest I have been to around the Tampa area for pizza by the slice or a whole pie and an excellent variety of pasta and salad choices. They have a large capacity of safe seating and the restaurant is very clean. Their pizzas and salads are made with the freshest ingredients and their slices of pizza are the largest around. All their pasta is homemade and everything is made in house, including all of the wonderful salads. Geo also has two special pasta sauces that he promotes, one is called the pink sauce to support cancer research and the blue sauce that supports autism research and awareness. Before you leave the restaurant, I encourage you to pick up a bottle of one of these sauces. They are both excellent and when you purchase a bottle, a portion of the proceeds will go to the research that pertains to the story on the back of the bottle. As soon as you walk in to Due Amici's, the fine appetizing aroma and atmospere will catch your senses for a wonderful dining experience. I highly suggest you come down to Centro Ybor and dine here at Due Amici's and say hi to Geo and take home a bottle of pink or blue pasta sauce and maybe even a...
