Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Tampa

If I could rate the service and food separately here I'd say the service was a 5/5 and the food was a 3 or 4. This was my first visit to any Jersey Mike's. Firehouse subs is a favorite of mine so I usually go there but I was presented with an opportunity to meet up with some family here.

The good first. Service was what I'd expect for the venue and nothing felt sub par. Everyone I spoke to was friendly. I asked for tomatoes in the sandwich I ordered (not standard). I walked to our table with my sandwich and an employee promptly walked over and apologized that they had almost forgotten to add tomatoes and took the sandwich back to fix this. I had not opened the wrapper yet so I wasn't aware until they said something. By the time I went to grab my fountain drink and got back to my table the sandwich had already been returned. I'd call that punctual and worth mentioning.

The food on the other hand wasn't quite up to my expectations or what I was used to from my time at Firehouse subs. I had the #43 Chipotle Cheese Steak which I had seen from some reviews and was considered good. Now as this was my first visit I have no comparisons to make. I don't know if the sandwich was made substandard or that's exactly how it was supposed to be. What I do know is that I felt I was eating a lot more bread than meat or toppings in general. The steak was good but there just wasn't enough in my opinion. I noticed some other reviewers saying the same.

Let me put it like this... In this case the bread overwhelmed the toppings but at Firehouse often the toppings overwhelm the bread. I prefer the latter.

Furthermore, the spicy chipotle mayo sauce was slathered on in far more abundance than I would have liked. Now I have to admit that I normally prefer light on the sauces but I wanted to see what 'standard' looked like at Mike's. The flavor of the other ingredients I felt to be taken over by the flavor of the spicy chipotle mayo sauce. If I do order anything from here again, and I probably will, I'm going to be certain to ask them to go light on their sauces.

The bread was ok but nothing special and I did ask for wheat; I got wheat but it felt more like white bread which was mildly disappointing but barely worth mentioning.

I would definitely recommend Jersey Mike's to new prospective patrons so they can form their own opinion about the food as I found nothing overtly problematic with my visit beyond the food not matching my personal...

I've never gotten any item that wasn't exactly right from this location. The delivery service grub hub needs to be dropped however before they ruin the restaurants reputation. I will continue going to this fine place but I will never again use grub hub. My order placed fine and left the restaurant in minutes. I am about three blocks away. I put in instructions to knock and step away because I am in quarantine. The tracker came up delivered I looked out and nothing. The driver wouldn't answer calls or texts from either me or the grub hub customer service. Their answer was sorry we'll refund your money in 3-5 days! So I was stuck here sick with low money so I now can't order something else. I'm diabetic and already ate my last glucose tablet because of low blood sugar. Thanks to grub hub my dinner was peanut butter by spoon. If grub hub screws you over don't blame the restaurant . That's the second and last time the grub hub ruined my dinner. The driver went on the wrong street, wrong address number and in daylight! No excuse and totally unwilling to correct...

Okay so you must have to actually go into this location and watch them make your order. 2nd time ordering delivery from them and this time I got my sandwich with no olive oil and red wine vinegar and spices which is supposed to be included in the Mike's way AND they left off the chips and drink I paid for. If it wasn't for the super nice dasher Cheese M. going back to get them I would just be out that money and the items. THANK YOU Cheese! The 1st time I ordered from them they left off the Mike's way on my sandwich as well. It's not hard to read and prepare the order as it came in on the ticket! I've done it and I've always double checked that I packed the customers order correctly before handing it off. If people are spending their money at your establishment please prepare the orders right! Simple as that. 💁‍♀️ Some of the other reviews have stated the same about delivery orders coming from here. 😑 Wish I had read them prior to ordering again. Delivery is way more expensive so it is appreciated when yall pay attention and hand off the correct...
