A friend recommended me this spot so I had to try it. It was good but nothing amazing. The atmosphere is really nice. It is a super cute vibey spot and nice to take pics. My boyfriend and I opted to sit outside and it is very decorated out there with lots of lights and decor. My complaint is that the table was extremely small and it made it hard to eat our food. The service was not really amazing. Maybe it was because we were sitting outside, but our waitress did not visit our table often or refill our drinks. We constantly had to ask her to take away our plates because the table was so small. We also had to ask her for extra plates to share our nachos which I felt should have been brought out to begin with. Still the workers were really friendly and It was a busy night. Our food didn’t take too long to come out. We ordered the Americano nachos. My boyfriend and I are nacho connoisseurs so we are a bit critical. These nachos were okay, nothing crazy. I felt as though they could have had a bit more topping. For entrees, I did the make your own tacos platter. I picked shredded chicken and pork & plantain ropa vieja. The ropa vieja was absolutely amazing and it was unlike anything I’ve had before. If I return, I would definitely order it again. The ropa vieja was extremely tender and the plantains in it made it even better. The rice, toppings, and sauce it came with were all super good. It was a good portion size too. My boyfriend ordered the LUV burrito which he rated a 3/5. It was pretty big but not massive. It came with lots of different stuff. He did not like the yuca fries that it came with and said they didn’t have a lot of flavor. Overall a decent restaurant! I would return and try some other menu items. I also enjoyed...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I have been to luv child many times before this experience and absolutely loved it. Great food fun music great drinks, and we even waited 35 minutes to get a table because we loved the food so much! However we were not expecting the absolute horror service that we received once we were sat. As soon as we sat down we were instantly forgotten and no server had gotten us even water for 24 minutes. Once the hostess came back after seeing us get no service she grabbed us water and said our server would be right with us. Once the server (SARAH) had arrived, she didn't even apologize or do anything for us and just said "well I'm here now, I had tables inside " after she saw how visibly annoyed we were. She put in chips and salsa for us. Didn't even bring them out herself and then proceeded to not check on us for 48 minutes when we wanted to order two entrees. Luckily, Simone stepped in and saw that we were not being served at all, and took our order and made sure we had everything we needed. The server (sarah is her name) who neglected us for a very long time. Said she would even get us water yet never refilled it once my boyfriend had an empty water cup for an hour and ten minutes and had to drink mine since we were sitting outside. We ate our food and Simone brought us the check however Sarah right before we were going to pay Simone she cashed us out and stole Simone's table completely since she never did anything for us. This was my boyfriend and I last dinner together before he goes to England for three months and we thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate this. However, we were sadly proved wrong by SARAH...
Read moreI had heard about Luv Child online and had wanted to visit for a long time, so I decided to go there for brunch over the weekend.
Parking around the restaurant is limited, so finding a spot can be challenging. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a charming 90s-inspired décor and ambiance.
We were quickly seated and greeted by our server. From the menu, we started with black coffee and sweet potato fries. For our main brunch dishes, we ordered the Breakfast Burrito and Huevos Rancheros.
Our black coffee and sweet potato fries arrived promptly. The coffee was hot and fresh, a perfect start to the meal. The sweet potato fries were delicious, tasty, and freshly made--my wife and I both loved them.
Next, we received our main courses: the Breakfast Burrito and Huevos Rancheros. The Breakfast Burrito, served with a side of sliced chicken, was fulfilling though the chicken was just okay and could have been better. The Huevos Rancheros, on the other hand, were delicious and tasty, featuring a perfectly cooked egg omelette.
The manager came by to greet us and asked about our experience. She informed us that Luv Child would be closing at the end of July for renovations and would reopen in September with an improved menu, ambiance, and décor. I am confident that Luv Child will come back...
