Iāve been here a few times since itās walking distance from my place and I really wanted to love it but they fall short every single time.
Overall, it is a very good location and itās got lots of space (inside and out). People are generally nice but it depends on who you get. I usually go in when itās not busy since I WFH and I donāt typically have to wait in line.
Today my total was about $20 with an $8 sandwich (rounded up) a drink and a dream (rice crispy) bar. Anyway, they didnāt end up having the sandwich I ordered and told me to choose a different one. I did, it was maybe $5-$6 and they wouldnāt allow me to add a small pastry w it so it actually adds up to what I paid for. So I said okay well I donāt really want anything else so can I just get a refund, they said they could do a gift card⦠why would I want an $8 gift card? No.
Basically, they rang me up for an item they didnāt have THEN wanted to give me a much cheaper item and just take the loss and THEN they wouldnāt even give me a refund.
I ended up choosing a sandwich I didnāt want that was closer to the cost of the original one I already paid for.
All in all, tell your baristas or allow them more power to give customers more than one item so that it at least EQUALs the amount they were already charged (since you canāt teach common sense) or just give refunds. If I wanted an $8 gift card that Iāll probably never use then id have asked for one.
I figured Iād leave a review this time so maybe something happens (if not now then...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was sitting in the store this afternoon and noticed a group of preteen girls go up to the counter to order drinks. They looked so happy to be doing something grownups do and I couldn't help but watch them and reminisce a bit. There was a complication with their payment but Jamie was so incredibly kind and helped them without hesitation. (I'd also like to note that I've seen plenty of adults in the same situation and they were politely declined.) The girls were none the wiser and left smiling ear to ear with their grownup Starbucks cups in hand. Jamie could've easily declined them but I'm sure he knew that they didn't have an alternative form of payment and would've had to leave empty handed and embarrassed. He made them so happy with such a small act of kindness and Starbucks should be proud to have such a kind and intuitive person on staff. People who do the kind thing when they think no one is looking are hard to find and Jamie certainly seems like one of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a wonderfully welcoming experience at this Starbucks. It was their first day open, which you would think would make everything hectic and crazy. On the contrary! Trevor, the manager, greeted me with a big smile! Blaise took my order and the 3 of us did a happy dance when I realized they had my favorite, limited-edition coffee (Casi Cielo for the win!) in stock. Taylor made my drink perfectly, with no issues with my requests. I never saw Kelly stop cleaning for even a second! Starbucks may be a big corporation, but the staff treats this store like they own it themselves. So friendly and gracious, and their excitement to be serving the Harbour Island community is contagious! The store itself is HUGE. There is no issue finding seats, tables, or outlets. I particularly love the artwork, which is a faux chalkboard design. There is even ample seating outside and thankfully even the outdoor space is non-smoking. Welcome to the...
