Tried Walk Ons for a date night, and it didnt disappoint. Nestled in a brand new shopping area, this place is the perfect couples outing. As for Walk-ons, it opened June 28th, but shows no signs that its staff is new. All the staff was very attentive and professional. On a non game day saturday night, it not crowded and we were seated immediately. Large local beer selection as well as import and standard beer all on tap! There is a walk up bar window outside.
We tried the Cheese Fries that came free when you download their app. It was not just some canned nacho cheese fries on waffle fries. This was a mixture of cheese as well as peppercinies. The fries were perfectly fried and cheese melted. It was a great starter and perfectly priced for what you would get if you were to just pay for it.
For our dinner, I had the voodoo shrimp and Grits, and my wife had the Steak Sirloin Po'boy.
The Voodoo Shrimp and Grits was pretty good, although a far cry from what I would normally expect in New Orleans. This was a corn based grits, a little thicker than I was accustom to, but very flavorful. The shrimp was wrapped in baccon and fried to a light crisp with a sweet and spicy sauce. All in all this was a great mixture of what I love and something new. Portion wise it was spot on.
For the Steak Po'boy, it was full of smokey flavor with a hint of bayou flavor. Served with a side of waffle fries and spicy ranch dipping sauce this is a game day must.
Four dessert we had to have the beignets. This New Orleans delight is a must have, and is very well done. Light powdery sugar atop some sunny drizzled beignets is a great way to end.
All in all between the staffs great service and the food that is made to order, no reheated I was reall impressed with the place. While still a sports restaurant, you can still get away and enjoy a private, and...

I had an incredible experience at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux here in Tampa! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, energetic, and full of good vibes. It’s the perfect mix of a casual sports bar feel with an elevated dining experience.
Food: The food was absolutely top tier! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The menu has something for everyone — from juicy burgers and crispy fried shrimp to rich, flavorful Cajun-inspired dishes. My meal came out hot and beautifully plated, with generous portions that made it more than worth the price. You can tell they take pride in the quality of what they serve.
Drinks: The drink menu was just as impressive. My cocktail was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. They also have a great selection of beer, wine, and specialty drinks that make it easy to pair something tasty with your meal without breaking the bank.
Service: The service was exceptional — attentive without being overbearing. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations. The staff worked like a well-oiled machine, making sure everything ran smoothly and every table was taken care of.
Value: What really impressed me was that for the quality of the food, drinks, and service, the prices were very affordable. You don’t often find that combination — a place that’s perfect for a casual lunch, a game-day hangout, or even a nice dinner without spending a fortune.

Read moreJust experienced one of the worst restaurant service in a very long time and this was on a Tuesday night at 7:45. The did not look overly busy. Stepped in and the supposedly hostess was taking a carryout order. Patiently waited to be acknowledged or greeted. Wasn’t until 5 minutes later a young man stepped up and took me to a booth by the bar with a menu. The young man then went back to hostess stand to help with the carryout order. Then he remained there to engaged in a casual conversation with the young woman that took the carryout order. Meanwhile, I waited for the waitress to check on me to ask what I’d like to drink …. Typical routine for restaurant patron. Another 10 minutes went by with multiple waitresses passing by and not one acknowledged that I was staring at them hoping they were the ones assigned to my table. I drive 2.5 hrs from Jacksonville, just checked into the Aloft hotel across the street and was looking for a nice meal chased with an alcohol beverage. Instead, after another waitress walked by, I got up and walked out of the restaurant. The same young man was still at the front chatting with the young woman and neither of them pay any attention to me. If you’re in Tampa looking for a place to dine with some drinks, don’t come here. I went right around the corner and got me a juicy burger and shake from Shake Shack! Got my food in 5 minutes and loved every bit of it. Satisfaction guaranteed always...
