I contacted this business on a 12/22 and received a response on 12/23 for pickup on 12/25. I placed an order the order. It was confirmed and I was emailed an invoice but did not pay the invoice until Friday TODAY when I went to pick up my food. I arrived and I pay the invoice. Immediately after I receive a text message from The Black Chef Eatery. NOT a phone call or any other type of communication before this other than placing the order. The text stated that my invoice was cancelled and my order was cancelled because the invoice needed to be paid in a certain amount of time. . NO WHERE in our communication did they state my invoice had to be paid and its not on their Facebook page or IG either. The food that I order was for Christmas dinner with my family. Because of this now me and my family do not have dinner which is what I ordered from their company. If the invoice needed to be paid in a specific amount of time "the black chef eatery' should have made it their business to tell me as the customer that it needed to be paid in a certain amount of time. There was no specific reason as to why did not pay it before arriving but I just felt it was easier to pay the invoice as I picked up my order to ensure that it was what I wanted and how I want it. that was very unprofessional and rude of this company to not only just wait until I arrived to cancel my order but also not even respond when I asked if I could still get the food I ordered. I fully supported them and drove all the way from st.pete today and waisted an hour of my time and have driven to their house AND restaurant multiple times for their food but Never again. Some "Black businesses" these days seem to have piss poor communication and thus proves it. Christmas dinner cancelled..thanks to them. I had never been to Yuppi before, which was located about 20 minutes away from my place. I arrived at 7:30 pm and wasn't sure what to expect from the business. As I entered, I saw other Yelp elites enjoying the chicken wings. I presented my confirmed Yelp Elite email at the food counter and inquired about my order. The attendant informed me that my order would consist of 10 chicken wings and fries. In addition to my to-go order, I also requested 5 pieces of shrimp from the menu. I waited for my order for about 15 minutes while sitting near Yuppi. I started with the Shrimp, which was delicious and very tasty. The shrimp were large, breaded, and perfectly fried with breadcrumbs. Later, I tried the Original Chicken Wings, which were equally flavorful and delicious. They were simply amazing! I recently tried the french fries from Yuppi and was pleasantly surprised. They were truly amazing and delicious. Read moreI am a believer on supporting startups but this place is not even trying. I drove 30 minutes to go there, lasted another 10 trying to find parking in that busy area. Walked in, the gentleman behind the counter was more interested in a young girl working there with him than helping anyone walking in. He finally takes my order. I waited right inside near him by the seating. 34 minutes later and after I gave him a sharp look he tells me that he is.going to go check for my order. Mind you the only person that was helped in all that time was a girl that was there before me standing talking to another person he knew and nobody else got food but her. He came out and tells me that he by "mistake" had given my food to someone else and now I had to wait again for my food to be made again. No other type of compensation or honest apology besides a "sorry" while smirking at me. I asked for a refund as I no longer had more hours to waste for that type of service.
