All I can say is WOW! I'm not easily impressed by food, but this restaurant blew me away! The setting is very unique, but the ambience definitely sets the tone and fits the theme. After starting with two delicious, refreshing cocktails, my party had the tomato bruschetta for an appetizer, lamb chops with fries and pita bread and salmon for our entrees, and finished our experience with Tiramisu and Panacotta for dessert. Everything was fantastic! Particularly noteworthy was the salmon -- their orange vodka glaze was superb! The single best part of the meal, though, was dessert. This tiramisu may very well be in contention for the best on Earth. I have never been more enamored with food than I was after my first bite of this divine delicacy! And while I personally preferred the tiramisu, the Panacotta was sublime.
Towards the end of dinner, our server let us know that it took a year to develop the cocktail menu. I'll definitely be trying more of them -- the two we ordered were light, refreshing, and delicious. We also spoke with the executive chef, and it was clear that he's very passionate about his work (not that it wasn't clear from our experience up to that point). He is doing everything right with his restaurant, making sure that it is an experience, not just a meal. The attention to detail shows in every aspect. In a higher-end (less casual) setting, there would be no question that Anemos is the epitome of fine dining. I can't wait to go back!
P.S. -- Don't be put off by how much I said we spent per person. There are several entrees between $20 and $30, so while there's plenty of room to make your meal expensive, it's still possible to experience this restaurant at a reasonable...
Read moreWalking in was a bit weird. The open windows are wide so we thought we can just walk in through one of them which was near the bar. We didn’t use our eyes to look for an actual door I guess lol. The whole place is a tent. When you walk in, it’s a nice “beach vibe” environment. Although it would be better to have the restaurant at the beach instead - so we don’t have to look out the window and see cars.
Food took a while to be served. They gave free garlic bread and sticks but it did not taste fresh. Texture is as if it sat out for a while. So maybe toasting it before serving would’ve been nice.
I ordered their appetizers: Fries and Bruschetta. The fries were great. I find the cuts to be similar to McDonald’s fries but with their own Mediterranean seasoning. The bruschetta was unfortunately small. For $10? I expected it to be a bit bigger. I prefer the crust with Bruschettas as well. But the taste overall was yum.
My son had their kids set. He had the Margarita Pizza. He enjoyed the cheese and the bread. The Vanilla ice cream was delicious as well. The server mentioned that it is freshly made at their kitchen.
I had their Chicken Alfredo. Creamy garlic and pesto sauce = Yum. $22 was worth it for me. I tried to pair it with their complimentary garlic bread but I don’t recommend it. The Chicken Alfredo by itself was more than enough to enjoy.
I would come back to try a different entree in the near future as I didn’t bring myself to enjoy their Mediterranean dishes. I just chose entrees that were familiar to my taste.
I did not get our servers name but she was accommodating to all our needs which was what we...
Read moreBeen to Anemos 4 times since opening and as such have tried a number of items on and off the menu. My favorite dishes are the seafood and plant based items. The salt crusted branzino is clearly my favorite (special order made in advance). It is a little pricey but the fish is very fresh, tender and juicy since it is crusted in salt; enough to feed 4 as an entree if side dishes are ordered. Tried 4 salads and all very good with the right amount of dressing. Other favorites include the different spreads (eg. hummus and baba ghanoush), mushroom Moussaka, iman bayildi (eggplant dish) and onion soup. The lamb chops are tasty too. I like the fruit infused water which I found refreshing with a light flavor of fruit. Hard to find a good Bloody Mary around and as such, it was a pleasant surprise when we tasted the one in Anemos, it definitely had the Greek flavors (feta cheese too) and we loved it. With dessert, we had the Freddo Cappuccino which is creamy, rich and strong.
The servers are friendly and attentive. Given that the restaurant is new, the staff are getting themselves familiarized. I had the opportunity of meeting the 2 main chefs who are from Greece and they are here to stay. The atmosphere is pleasant and set up is unique in that it gives an indoor and outdoor vibe. Located right next to Zoh which makes it very convenient to have dinner or drinks and popping over to...
