Ate here last night and it was a full house, so many large parties. Food was great as always although it took a little while. Server was very attentive and apologetic because of our food and drinks not coming out on time. The band was a little loud, it felt like I was in a karaoke bar. My real concern was that the restaurant was lacking so much tableware and barware. My husband ordered a beer, which at CPK is normally served in a cold glass, but when it was handed to him, the glass was still hot/warm. The plates and water glasses were warm as well. I ordered a glass of red wine and I was asked if it’s ok if they serve it in a champagne glass because they are out of wine glasses. I was fine with it, but a restaurant like this should have more than enough wine glasses to keep them from serving red wine in a champagne glass… Even the utensils were apparently lacking, I overheard the table next to us ask if they can have a small spoon for their dessert but apparently they ran out of spoons as well so they were given a plastic spoon. It seems to me, that whoever oversees ensuring this restaurant has the things it needs to provide quality and consistent service is dropping the ball. The wait staff does an excellent job, but it’s embarrassing for them and the customer to have to serve red wine in a champagne glass and be given plastic utensils in a restaurant of this quality. The little things like that can really affect the operation, and thus reputation, of a restaurant. My family and I love CPK and it’s just disappointing how much attention to detail seems to be slipping, hopefully this isn’t a sign of worse things to come and they can find the source of the problem and turn it around. We will still be back but hopefully next time...
Read moreI’ve previously had a bad experience with this restaurant due to the food being quite lacking compared to the price. However, recently I’ve felt they’ve definitely improved their standards.
The food was mildly impressive the recent times I’ve gone! There was a lot more flavor and depth to the dishes I’ve tried. I kid you not, CPK is probably one of the few places here where they actually cook the spaghetti properly (Al dente). Their bolognese had a perfect snap to the noodles and the meat sauce was very flavorful. However, I highly recommend the avocado spring rolls! The avocado with chicken and Monterey Jack cheese was a delightful combination alongside the crispy spring rolls wrapper!
The price is slightly elevated, but that’s to be expected with the location of the restaurant. Despite this, I felt the portions were still proportionate to the servings.
For service, I did feel a little neglected as the staff seemed to cater more of the tourists. There was a time I asked for a refill on my iced tea, another staff came by and refilled the tourist next to me and completely passed by while my empty cup was on the table. However, the servers were still kind and welcoming when I had questions about the menu.
Restaurant had a very clean and modern design with a similar motif to the other restaurants in that specific area. They uphold their environmental standards accordingly.
Overall I can see myself taking my business...
Read moreThe food is good and the pricing is what I expected which is why I am giving it 2 stars, but the service we received was ridiculously lacking and utterly poor. Our server often had us waiting for for drink refills, and was not around for us to request things, he completely forgot a main course for a person in our party (only four adults and a toddler). We had to actually ask what the status of the dish was and the server seemed lost as to what we were talking about. By the time the forgotten food was received everyone else was finished eating. After all that we were not even offered discount on the bill or for the dish itself. We had to ask for items that came with the meal (such as ice cream for the kids meal), and anything we did ask for (like lemon) took way too long to obtain. Considering the place had barely any customers it was grossly disappointing that we had such issues. I would hate to venture in on a busy weekend and see how it goes during lunch/dinner rush and get Johnray as a server if we could not even be well cared for with a practically empty establishment. Will not return. Go to IHOP downstairs or take the drive the other CPK because we have had great...
