Johnny's Taphouse and Grill — Restaurant in Tarpon Springs

I have gone there several times... food is good, service is usually good. I went there with friends for NFL football games on Sunday. That’s when I felt very disappointed with how they treated me as a customer. I had a simple request that to have caption on for each football game. The server said only one tv according to the management. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager said only one because the customers complains about caption blocking the score. I told her that there’s several same games on the TVs and to just have each game captioned on one of many TVs. She refused and said only pick two games. I decided to leave at that. Then watched a few minutes of games and saw that captions weren’t blocking the scores. So I asked the manager nicely by pointing out “I see the captions aren’t blocking the scores on TVs, wouldn’t you agree with that. She looked and changed her story that it’s the customers and it’s busy etc. I told her I am one of your customers and asked nicely before the games started. I told her it is not fair for all of us deaf customers that you are not putting on captions on for each games out of many TVs they have. Basically the manager made me felt like I wasn’t a customer, and degraded me and my friends to second class citizens because she didn’t want to accommodate by turning on captions for each game instead of all TVs they had. That is why you are rated one star because your manager refused to provide us access to what the games were talking about on the TVs. If she didn’t, then we would have a good experience...

We had been going to Johnny’s since they opened years ago. We loved it every time. Unfortunately over the last year the food has been awful every time. We had 4 bad experiences in a row and decided to stop going. Well today we decided to try again since it had been about 5 months. I told our waitress Jayme (who was super nice and awesome btw) about our past experiences before we ordered and told her we used to love it and were there to try one last time. I ordered the rueben (used to be my fav food here) and the meat tasted old and was fatty. I took two bites and said nope. My daughter ordered the Alfredo and the chicken literally tasted like dishwater and the sauce was bland. She had about two bites too. The queso was good and the stingers my other daughter got was good. The problem is that they could clearly see we didn’t eat it, and they brought us a bill for the entire thing. I mentioned it to Jayme and they took the Alfredo off but still charged me 1/2 for the Reuben. Cost me 50.00 for complete disappointment. I still tipped Jayme for the full amount cuz it wasn’t her fault. Left a note for Johnny and patti on the receipt explaining the situation. I must say as a local, I’m super disappointed and we will never return. 5 times in a row is super unacceptable. We have spent a lot of money here over the years, and supported them when they first opened. It’s sad to say cuz we love the spot and the ppl, but the food quality is absolutely awful now. The service was terrible. Our server should honestly find a new job because she sucks at this one. We sat for at least 5 mins before she came to take our drink order. We were ready to order then and after she brought our drinks (which she didn’t listen to our order for that either) she walked away and then another few mins later came back to take our order. Was charged extra for sauce that was on the side instead of in my sandwich. She never checked on us once after we got our food. We finished then waited another 20 mins after we finished (not over exaggerating) for her to finally come by and ask if we wanted our check. While we were waiting for her to come check on us and give us the check, we watched her walk by us several times to fix the TVs and never asked us if everything was okay. She was walking around setting up things that could have been done later and in the back doing who knows what while we sat there with empty plates and waiting for our check. While doing all of this, she was coughing all over the place without covering her mouth. My husband works right by this place and only has an hour for lunch and this took an hour and 10 mins in the restaurant when it should have been much faster had our server even cared to check on us at all and it wasn’t even busy. Food was good but highly doubt we’ll be back to dine in since the service was terrible. Like I said, this lady needs to find another job because she sucks at...
