I am a very understanding person and I know working retail that mistakes happen or you can have a bad day, but I am beyond hurt by the way I was treated here by the lady who works in front. I was very dehydrated walking around for a long time trying to find my mother and aunt who had my purse with my husbands wallet in it. We really had no choice but to ask if they had some water for us and promised to pay back. We maybe younger and not dressed with jewels and a fancy Rolex watch, but definitely do not look homeless. I know there is protocol with giving a free water bottle and she saying no wasn’t what bothered me, but the way she looked at me like I was a beggar even though I was flushed in the face. I passed out and next door a wonderful store called ‘sweets and treats’ helped me with some food to get sugar in me and politely showed me where a water fountain was and a young man at Hellas gave me a big cup of water and didn’t except my money once I got my purse. Well, both places will be getting a large tip tomorrow. My husband went back to tell the lady what happened to me and he told me that she was still very rude. I wouldn’t say that is a wise choice because he does happen to know many people in the Tarpon area and a few important people in the community including Chris Alahouzos. I know he can easily advise people to not visit there being friends with my hubby. Not the best choice to be rude to someone who has little empathy towards a woman who knows afterwards she passed out from not having water. I’ll go ahead and agree to the one star though because I’m sure the wine is good. I guess I should have asked for a sample of wine instead and would have had...
Read moreMy wife and I made a quick stop off here during our first visit to the Sponge Docks.
It’s pretty cool that they have a wine bar, although my wife and I didn’t stop off to have any wine. The wine bar is kind of secluded, so not sure if they ever get a lot of business.
In the store portion, they have a small selection of wines. Here’s where I’m confused. If they only carry wines that are carried by Publix and larger wine stores, why buy wine here at a higher price. Maybe an out of town tourist who is visiting and grabs a bottle that they will have that night would be enticed but not the average local person. I would have been very impressed if they carried some local wines that weren’t as readily available elsewhere.
They do have some wine glasses that were decorated by a local artist but that’s not my cup of tea (or glass of wine) either.
This is a store I won’t be visiting again when I visit the Docks. There’s just no reason to. I wasn’t there long enough to talk to the staff. No one said hi, which is okay.
I’m sure some love this store for their own reasons. You may too, but I...
Read moreOk,here is my problem with this place! Yes they have a good selection of wine but the customer service is horrible and to me customer service is everything. We have now been to this establishment twice...the first time I let it slide without writing a review because I thought maybe the employee was having a bad day....this is now the second time I have come to this business where the female employee has refused to provide me with service because she didnt feel that I was old enough to be in the store. I passed the legal drinking age 5 years ago honey....I'm legal. The employee with long brown hair gave us the dirtiest look when first walking in the door, we then stood in line to try the wine tasting, she then proceeded to ignore us all together and begin to serve the customers behind us. I am furious! We are locals and frequent Tarpon Springs. I have to say I will never come to this place of...
