Burger Spot — Restaurant in Tehachapi

We have been coming to the Burger Spot for decades and have always enjoyed it. I understand that it is getting harder with inflation, gas, and food prices to make ends meet. Yes for all of us. We are all counting pennies. We went in today and ordered two combos. The lady at the counter is always polite, and we do appreciate her kindness. She offered to substitute onion rings for my French fries and I said yes, I love onion rings. When we got our bill I happen to see that the substitution for basically half the amount of onion rings as opposed to getting fries cost me an extra $3.49 which I was not happy about at all. I did not notice this till we left, and as soon as I looked at the receipt which was over $30 for two combos, I decided to call and ask her about it and why she did not inform me that I was paying full price for a little side of onion rings when I I would have been as happy with the fries and to save the $3.49. The only point I am trying to make is, if you offer to substitute one item for another, I would think that would be a substitution. And not tack on an extra $3.49. And if you do at least let the customer know that you are slamming them with a substantial extra charge and give them the option to just take the fries instead. That is all I am trying to say. Did a online order, My regular burger was sad. The patty was very dry and looked slapped together, not super appetizing to begin with. I had also got onion rings and ranch. Usually workers will make sure said container is shut before putting it in the bag especially when they throw it on the side to slide down the bag. The ranch was not shut and I hadn't even got a block away before I noticed both my burger and onion rings were coated in the ranch after I reached my hand in. I walked in not even 3 minutes later and the older lady at the reg asked if I had pick up order even tho I was just in there. Almost got charged for the replacement till I said I wouldn't have needed one if she did the basic step of checking closed containers before they get bagged.

Definitely do NOT plan to return! Not worth the price and lack of basic knowledge.

This isn't the first time I've ordered here and I wanted to give another chance. Get some new blood in the shop that can remember the basics. I know food quality won't chance since the owner...

The Burger Spot is really just a hamburger joint. And you know the usual you get a soda get french fries you get a hamburger period when the french fries are done exactly perfectly and hamburger is big and juicy and fat and you can get your mouth around it it's but just barely and it tastes great I must have been really in the mood for a burger because this is my new go-to place in Tehachapi. Give it a try they were prompt oh so prompt and this is a current visit in 2017 so whatever the bleeps were at other ratings or reviews I'd say whatever that problem was last year it's been fixed this place is great stop if you just want a hamburger you want to come in and out they were cranking and orders out like wildfire and they're looking good and friendly and free refills...
