California Pizza Kitchen at Temecula — Restaurant in Temecula

I used to go here with my grandparents. The service and the food was always so nice and tasty. So when I took my girlfriend here for a date, I didn’t think the service would be any less than good. But that was not what I got. When me be my girlfriend arrived, we were greeted by the host and asked if we were going to sit two. We replied with a yes. The waitress then looked at my girlfriend who is a little bit shorter than I, and asked if she wanted a kids menu. That was really where it started to go downhill. We were taken to our seats and we usually sit on the same side as each other because we are a couple so we didn’t think anything of it. The host said our waitress would be right there. Our waitress comes and takes our order after giving us questionable looks. We ordered small items at that. She got a Caesar salad with chicken and I got the appetizer guacamole with a flat bread. All of which shouldn’t have taken more than maybe 25 minutes. We proceed to wait almost 40 minutes to even get any food. Our food comes out and the flatbread is burnt on the sides, and my girlfriends chicken tastes also burnt. It wasn’t busy when we went, and when looking around the waitresses and managers were standing around talking. There was also distress in the kitchen from one male manager to the cooks. During our time there, we were given harsh looks by not only our waitress but the managers as well. Our waitress brought us the check but never returned to take the check. We could see her in the kitchen. She would stand there, talk to a fellow waitress and look at us. She stared at us. After that another waitress was holding what seemed like straws and our waitress took it out of her hands to go do whatever was her task. Our waitress came out with a whole pizza in less than 20 minutes for a table that had just been seated fourty minutes into us being seated. She passed by us, gave us another glare and then didn’t come back to our table and proceeded to make her way back to the kitchen to just stand and talk some more. I also will note there was a table of six that had just been seated, their order taken, their drinks brought and their appetizers taken out in a manner of 10 minutes. Towards the end when we needed to go and get our food paid for, we had to ask another waitress who seemed to be a lead to pay for our meal. And that came with more looks. The whole experience was frankly rude and disrespectful. The waitress and staff was less than hospitable. And the looks were unnecessary. Me and my girlfriend do get looked at quite a lot when we are out but when at a resturaunt, we expect professionalism just as we give it at...

Arrived at CPK around 8:05 pm and was seated right away. Server (Elizabeth) came to my table and I placed my order (Sicilian Pizza and a half Thai Chicken Salad) by then the time was 8:10 pm. The server came back with bread. I proceed to wait for my order, while waiting several other customers came in and sat down close to my seating area. 8:30 pm, 8:40 pm still no food. 8:45 pm food was delivered to the couple in front of me that had came in 10 minutes after me? The server says, your food will be coming soon. Family that came 10 minutes after the couple sitting in front of me got their food. By this time it's almost 9 pm. I stopped the server and told to cancel my order. She apologized and said she would check on my order. 2 minutes later she returned with my salad. She tried to explain that there were so issues going on there at that time and that was the reason but she couldn't tell me what issues. I mentioned to her why was my meal being single out and there was no excuse for the delay. I asked for some sort of discount for the inconvenience. 5 minutes later she bought the pizza out, almost an hour later from when i first placed my order? No excuse for this!!! My other complaint is the Thai Chicken Salad, though it was very tasty one thing I didn't taste was chicken. Did not taste or see and chicken in my salad and believe me I searched. Very disappointed with that. The pizza was good and the manager did give me a break on the bill. The night really tucked and with getting a break on the check didn't really help. Need to improve EVERYTHING. We sat in Elizabeth's section. 5:45pm It took her 15 minutes to get waters to us. 30 minutes to get 2 adult drinks. She did not return to check on us, we had to ask the hostess to help us get 2 sprites for the kids. Other servers brought us more bread, and Elizabeth never returned. 3 other tables who arrived AFTER us received their meals way before us & finished. When Elizabeth checked on us (7:15) she brought the olive oils for the bread that was already finished and left.

By 7:30 we got up to leave still did NOT ever get our order. We left cash on the table to pay for the adult drinks, and Elizabeth came running to us as if we were dashing yelling at us to pay for the two drinks we ordered. No apologies for waiting for the food that never arrived. Nothing. She is lousy and you should transfer her to clean the restrooms only. Her customer service skills do not exist. No apologies, she didn't even try smooth things over.

Shout out to Rey the hostess for trying to help. Rey and another server were the only two who did try to remedy the situation.

Another note is we have a diabetic with us and we dosed for the dinner thinking we were going to be ok (because to need to wait a few minutes before eating) and that added stress to the situation that Elizabeth ignored. I had asked if food would be arriving soon. When she brought the oils for the already eaten breads and she said "in a few minutes" and...
