July 5th 2024. Friday 114 degrees out. I’m pregnant so I had been craving it for some time now. It’s also been years since I had Mongolian food. I used to go to Great Khan’s at the Montclair mall years ago. I am going to explain what I was used to doing. We start the same by filling out bowls with meat and veggies, the cooks empty our bowls of meat and veggies and begin cooking them on the grill using water mixed with some seasoning. They then would add the sauces (of our choice and were really good) to the meat and veggies then add the noodles to the bowl and wait until the meat and veggies were cooked to add the noodles. I was expecting that here.
Here we still add our own food but they don’t empty the bowl, the tiny bowl stays stacked with the meat and veggies and then you have to put the noodles on top of that. Not only that, the sauces were not that strong. Or if they were I wouldn’t know because they used unseasoned water to Cook everything at the same time on the grill. We Came home to eat, thinking it was going to be the same great taste the experiencing our first time having tasteless Mongolian foods. I imagine it was from them watering down our noodles while cooking.
Also there isn’t a place to sit and eat inside the restaurant, all of the chairs are zip tied together. The lights were low, dimmed or off and it was super hot in there. Not sure if they have the option to turn off their own AC. Imma still eat my $17.99 tasteless Mongolian food tho. But it didn’t fulfill...
Read moreFirst of all , I don’t understand why they have 2 bowls , regular bowl and Super Bowl for a different price .. the bowls are exactly the same no matter how high you stack it so pretty much your getting rip off . A regular is almost $20 , super almost $25 .. so you’re telling me all the veggies , noodles and sauces are worth less than the customers buying the bowls ?seems like customers are paying $20 worth of a bowl itself ! A bowl ! Rice is almost $3 , soda $3 ($1 refills) if you buy 4 regular bowls that will cost you almost $70 When you can spend that $ else where maybe even at a Buffet? They change the prices on the menu. Second of all , the tables has been tied up ever since Covid hit and Covid was how many years ago ?Third of all , I would see some dead cockroaches. Do me a favor and save your time elsewhere . Even yard house is cheaper especially happy hour . You could spend your $70 there eating as many...
Read moreTried this place after getting super hungry hanging out at round one. At 1st glance this place looked really nice the décor was really nice and the restaurant looked new. The cooking area seemed clean so was excited to try the food. My 1st thought was the sticker shock from the price I understand that there is inflation but $18 for a Super Bowl seem pretty steep. I tried to fill the bottom of the bowl with as much meat as I could they had a good selection of vegetables and then noodles loked great. There only had a couple choices where the sauces one was the teriyaki sauce and 1 was the Amerikhan house sauce and a lemon sauce as well. I went with the house sauce and found it to be a bit bitter. It didn't have the best flavor and made the rest of the dish have an off putting taste in my opinion. For almost 20 bucks I was really expecting more which doesn't surprise me because it is a mall...
