Epic Wings — Restaurant in Temecula

In the picture, it says it's called wings n things but the place I went was called epic wings. So, I hope I'm reviewing the right place. But, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just horrible media management because the management inside the shop was also horrible which is why I gave 1 star.

For 20 bucks, it was trash. It says it's never frozen. But, I am 100% sure they double fried mine. After 20 years as a chef, I know double fried when I taste it. Which means, mine were old and they simply refried them. Or, they are all precooked and then fried again for service. But, if that's the case, 25 minutes is unacceptable wait time either way. It should be no more than 5 to 10 minutes.

The poor management shows.

Also, the cashier was wearing the same gloves to handle money and those same gloves to serve drinks that guests aren't even allowed to get because of the phase of reopening from lockdown. What's the point if she's handling money and then touching the drink fountain anyways?? Who makes these rules. Obviously the cashier is not servsafe trained so I don't really blame her but I got my soda, finally, and it had no carbonation and no flavor. Lame. I went to bring it back and the manager interrupted to reprimand the cashier right in front of me. That is horrible management. You should never never reprimand an employee in front of guests.

The manager also would come out and tell the people waiting to clear out the room but if there wasn't 25 minute wait times, maybe there wouldn't be so many people waiting?? I counted 8 employees. That I could see. 2 on break and 2 up front and I think 4 in the back. With this amount of staff, they could run a fine dining kitchen with a 25 top seating availability. That's on the owner or manager. I haven't even researched if this is a franchise but just horrible from the top down. Where is #kitchennightmares when you need them??

So, I didn't get the drink right away that I added when I ordered. I almost forgot because I was so floored by the prices. 20 bucks for 8 fingers?? And that DOESN'T include a drink. But, I was thirsty so I added one.

So, it comes with bread sticks. How these were undercooked and 'doughy' tasting and the fingers were overcooked, I have no idea because the breadsticks are the one thing you CAN hold in a warmer and hold for service for over an hour. And, if they know what they are doing, they could have one proofer and one warmer. That way they could potentially always have fresh ones all day long. Breadsticks are not high food costs so even if a few are wasted, it's not a big deal. When the place is one main item with just various sauces, you want to focus on making sure that singular item is on point ESPECIALLY if its double the price of chain stores within a couple minute drive.

Wow! I really like to support local but Temecula, in general, seems to not be the best foodie destination. Or, they are hiring the most inexperienced cooks they can find. Which I don't understand because all of these places I've been to in Temecula seem to have over staffed front of the house. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra money on a better BOH and you won't need so many front of the house. But, even more importantly, you will get more return customers.

Had a wonderful experience here. The employees were smiling energetic knowledgable and friendly. This was my 1st time eating here and they were very helpful in deciding what would be the best for what I was looking for. The employees were respectful and treated me with professionalism and kindness even without a mask on. They never made me feel unwanted or uncomfortable because I can't wear a mask. Kudos to this branch on knowing we have rights and deserve the same treatment. Thank you for that.. We also had a large order of 48 wings plus. Sadly they were out of the famous bread I heard about. We were comped with fries but there was definitely not as much quantity wise as the bread would have been. The hot wings weren't very hot spice wise, the mild hot was a different flavor profile than hot wings I had before. Not bad just different. The BBQ wings were too saucy which ruined it a bit. The consistency in food quality, flavor, service and value. Epic Wings, AKA Wings n Things of the old days, does just that. This place has the softest and most delicious breadsticks hands down!
