HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE.
I'm not one to write bad reviews but people need to know what to expect before eating or ordering food from here.
The owner (lady that's always there) is a hustler, to say the least, and she teaches her employees to do the same.
I would call in orders and they would always change the price. The price listed on their website is different than the price you expect to pay when you get there; but it doesn't stop there.
The owner BLATANTLY lies to your face and says their menu has changed and hands you the new one. Here's the catch -- the menu she hands you is the exact same price as the website.
When you call in an order they expect you to give them a tip. Normally, I tip anyways because they most likely get paid minimum wage but when its expected and they give you attitude -- are you kidding me??? all you did was put my food in a bag. You're not cleaning a table, you're putting it in a bag.
I ordered a Pad Thai which is listed as $8.95 and a kids Pho listed at =$5.50 when I got there she said my total was $18.25. Excuse me? the last time I checked $8.95 + $5.50 + 8% tax = $15.60 can you please tell me where the extra three bucks came from? oh wait, we're being exact here that's $2.64.
I know its only three bucks but when I got home and the Pho was spilled all over the bag, I lost it. I basically paid $18.25 for Pad Thai that was mediocre at best.
It's no wonder the place is always empty.
My family and I were trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and even though the customer service was always hit or miss, it was the closest Pho around. The Pho, might I add, was never hot always lukewarm or cold. We had been going there for a few years and always tip when we come as a family.
BTW when I picked up my food the place was empty as usual, and three of her employees had a smirk on their face. She smiles at you and has most likely done something to your food. Oh and when you sign your card she'll make small talk and make you feel like you have to leave a tip. She acts like she remembers your name but in reality she just read your card.
Take my word for it or see it...
Read moreI have come to appreciate Pho. The broth, which cooks all-day is extremely complex, flavored by bones, herbs, spices and vegetables which done correctly is very delicious. I love the textural contrast of silky rice noodles and tender meats as well as the ability to customize with sprouts, basil, cilantro and various sauces. We came to Golden Bowl to experience their pho. The menu is a hodgepodge of Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese food options. We also like to compare spring rolls. Today we both order the shrimp spring rolls to share and each of us ordered a bowl of the Pho Ga. The spring rolls resembled a joint rolled by Cheech & Chong and was accompanied by a rich peanut sauce and another sweet sauce. They were fresh, big and I enjoyed the flavor but my wife thought the lettuce was overpowering the rest of the roll. If we wanted a damn salad we would have ordered one. The pho was pretty awesome. The broth was delicious and there were oodles of noodles to be found and also a fair amount of chicken. Price for pho was 13.99 and the 4 spring rolls were 9.99. Good price for the area. Service was pleasant and paced well. We will return to Golden Bowl but next time to try their Thai food....
Read moreMy husband and I went there during our lunch time on Jan. 29, 2016. A lady server saw us entered but we were just ignored. We picked a table and my husband politely waved his hand to get the server's attention, but she still ignored him and pretended not to see him. The third time my husband waved, I told him to get a menu so we can choose our food already since we still have to go back to work. By this time, we were sure that she already knows our presence because the place is just small and she saw my husband passed by her. The lady at the counter (maybe she's the owner) said, "I'm sorry”, to which my husband replied, "That's OK." After we chose what we like to order, my husband waved at the server again, he was again ignored. She didn't even utter words like, "I'll be with you in a minute" or something. We waited a couple of minutes. My husband waved his hand again to get her attention, she pretended not to see but said, "Hello!" to the people who have just entered the restaurant. We just decided to leave hungry and insulted. We had a bad experience in this restaurant already a couple of years ago, but we just gave it another chance. I don't want to go back...
