Jilberto’s Taco Shop (Mall) — Restaurant in Temecula

Before the virus this was always my iconic "Taco Tuesday" place as the value is amazing and so is the quality! Place is clean as can be and the staff are wonderful!

I haven't been back in sometime as there were life issues going on, but I ordered Breakfast Burritos this morning and gosh I'm convinced they hit a home run on this one too! I ordered a Ham Burrito and a Bacon Burrito. I only took a photo of the Ham as I wanted Bacon, the dog wanted Bacon, the whole world wanted Bacon!! The bacon was crisp and not mushy like some places. It was just the right size and perfectly done.

Now, onto the one I did take a photo of...the Ham. I took two photos. One as is and the other with some of the Red Sauce I requested. Let me say this: In this world there are many Breakfast Burritos. This just kicked their a**. Del Taco would run away crying. Here is what made it special folks: The eggs. Sure an egg is an egg, but they serve it up fried egg style (no runny yolk) and with that Ham or Bacon and those potatoes it totally rocks. I know most don't like spicy, but somehow this sauce really works with this, so give it a spin.

*Update: Ordered again today and took photos of Three Meat Breakfast Burritos, Mild Salsa, and Red Salsa cup. I love both as truly great, but really love the Mild for Chips and Salsa and regular Red for my Street Tacos or Burritos. Did I say check this place...

I asked the man working the cash register what he would recommend for me, as it was my first time visiting Jilberto's, and he said the carne asada fries are the most popular item on the menu. I can see why. Large portion (almost enough to feed two people), quality ingredients, and a taste to die for, at a cheaper price point ($9.99) than most other nearby taco shops offer (For comparison, the portion was about the same size as Alberto's "Super Fries" for about $2 cheaper, and better quality).

The restaurant itself is clean, with a small but nice salsa bar, with all the staples you'd hope to see.

The only thing I noticed missing was any sort of "Taco Tuesday" deal, but that's nothing to take a star away for, as the prices generally seem to be fair to begin with.
