Update: My friend informed me that apparently the employee below put a hold on her card for account sharing. Itās hard to see this as anything other than retaliatory.
My husband and I have been costco members for years. I recently came into this location (not my regular location) to help do some shopping for my best friend who is a stage 4 cancer patient. I didnāt have my card on me because I am visiting from out of state, but my best friend is also a costco member. She wasnāt feeling well enough to go in and shop, so she stayed in the car. After I finished the shopping I headed to self-checkout. Apparently this location has now installed multiple employees at self-checkout who scan in your membership. Ok, fine. I explain the situation to the employee, and she says no, you have to have the member on that card come in. So my friend comes in the store and then once the employee verifies her identity she headed back to the car. As she was walking back the employee then asked whose card we would be using. I told her I was planning to use mine, and she said no, it would have to be her name on the card. My friend, who was incredibly nauseated and fatigued, hadnāt brought her wallet in from the car. Thankfully we were able to do Apple pay, but the employee was incredibly rude and condescending the entire time (and was old enough to know better). I understand the policy, but there was zero recognition or consideration for the situation; and again, the point of the policy is to prevent abuse of the membershipābut we literally both pay for memberships! Her only suggestion was to use Instacart next time (which, if you didnāt know, costs not only a delivery fee + tip but also sometimes marks up individual items resulting in a significant financial burden to someone with a disability).
When my friend expressed that sheās never had this issue before and that usually she has a good experience with employees there, the employee muttered āsure, Iām the mean one.ā She said this in front of her manager, who did little to intervene or address the situation. The kicker is that now the employees at self-checkout scan all the items in your cart for you. When I pointed out that Iāve never been to a self-checkout where an employee does the entire self-checkout process, the employee became petulant and told her manager that I just didnāt want her to scan the items (which I never said) as if she was accusing me of something. It seems kind of ridiculous to have a self-checkout option when theyāre paying more employees to essentially be checkers at the stations. I mean, I donāt mind not having to do the scanning, but also donāt they do receipt checks for that same purpose?
I have worked customer service and I understand employees have to enforce policies but there is a way to do so without being incredibly rude. Especially in light of the situation where some additional compassion would have been appropriate. Unfortunately it seems that the employee in this situation really needed some training or better yet, should be redirected away from a customer-facing role. This experience really soured my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is for the tire department Not trust worthy Indirectly called me a lier Too much headache and hard time
I trust Costco, I like the service, so I decided to use them for my tire change as well, soon I regretted doing so, I was deeply disappointed⦠Costco tire department was the worst experience Iāve had with tire change. To keep the story short: I got tires installed at a different Costco store, came with 80k miles warranty, they were gone much faster than that, when I went back to them after the dealer told me all 4 tires were as soft as snake skin and need to be charged soon!! I installed them less than 40k miles ago when my car had +35k, but Costco documented that my car had only 2k when I did the tire change! This canāt be since I bought the car with more miles than that lol then used the original tires for a few years⦠they said maybe itās missing a zero so itās 20k not 2k, I still donāt think so but oh well, then they said only 3 tires qualify! For unconvincing reason. So they applied my warranty credit and told my youāll be paying around 500+ to change them but we need to order them⦠they got them few days later and today I went to get them installed, they said itās gonna be almost 700 , I told him you said 5 the other day, he literally said āI donāt know where you came up with this numberā just like that! Then I argued and they checked again and again ⦠finally got what I was told before 500 and somethingā¦. they also didnāt put the right milage so I had them to correct the paper this time. Never trust them on your tires, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else, or if you must go here, donāt trust them, check and check again what they write and whatever they tell you get it on paper because next day theyāll say, we didnāt say that youāre just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCostco is the worst place that anyone ever visits or has a membership with. The reason being the management is the worst among the worst I ever seen and dealt with, and the workers most of them are worse than the management. The management and most workers don't have any respect for customers who are different from them and who have different beliefs than them, when I visited there, they treated me with the word that start with an (S). If there is a zero out of 5, they will get it.
Among the first part, they expect to have multiple memberships for the same household regardless if you have an existing membership in your household. I have tried to purchase something with a family member who has a membership with them, and they have kicked me out because I don't have a membership. I feel that it is idiotic to have multiple memberships for the same household. I know for a fact that most of you feel how I feel a household should not have more than one and an add-on for membership for a warehouse.
Moreover, that is why I like Sam's Club because they require only one membership and an add-on to shop for the whole household, regardless of how many children that you have in your household. Therefore, I truly recommend discontinuing your membership with Costco and creating a new membership at Sam's Club because everything their is cheaper than Costco at everything. At least at Sam's Club, well...
