Al-Omda Hookah Lounge & Cafe — Restaurant in Tempe

The vibe was very off. They are new owners and they definitely wrecked what was such a special place. The seats aren’t comfy and their big lights are too bright. It’s direct light in your eyes. They need some more soft/low lighting. The old place had nice lighting and seats were on the floor. It use to have a homey and comfy atmosphere but now it has a sort of unwelcome vibe to it. When we got there was no music playing and energy was very off. We were about to leave but instead asked if they could turn some music on. Cookie, the one doing everything was super nice and asked us what we wanted to hear. A few songs later it cut out and was turned to something else. We did like it but it was very different and made the vibe more alert instead of chill like hookah lounges usually are. Cookie came back a few minutes later and apologized and said the owner didn’t like what was playing and wanted to play her music. It was just a bit off and uncomfortable for us. A few of our friends came to meet us and all of them said the same thing about the vibe. This place may be for you but the owner was not a very welcoming presence. It felt like she was breathing down our necks and like she really didn’t want us there. They really fumbled such a great spot. It was always packed with so many people. It giving back room vibes now. Great hookah spot I stumbled upon. I needed a place to get work done and chill at. This place has WiFi and plenty of outlets so I stopped by here. The atmosphere when I walked in was different than other hookah spots. I was told it is a more traditional setting with plenty of seats. It is a laid back setting Forsure. The hookah I ordered was the Lemonade Mint. A good flavor. I just sat, chilled, smoked hookah and got work done. The owner is super friendly and courteous. If you need anything, he will help you. The hookah hits well so no complaints. Chill setting to come kick it with friends and smoke! Would definitely recommend this place. I’ll be coming back the next time I’m in AZ. Btw happy hour is from 11-7pm....

Place was nice hookah was fabulous but honestly needs new employees one employee i assume not providing customer service we were in there smoking our hookah for about an hour until one employee a really tall employee with a bandana on comes and changes out our coal we had to ask our selves not the vibe we were looking for after a while a young dark headed lady came and started changing out our coals every 10 minute and asking if everything was ok we really appreciated her honestly our opinion of the business new employees are definitely needed to attend to customers will...
