I was attracted by there description of their marinated Chicken souvlaki pita. I found it to be a disappointing experience, primarily because the chicken was absolutely tasteless. The advertising signs from a prepared foods marketing company leads me to believe that they are just reheating stuff they get from a distributor of Greek fast food.
I do have to admit that I have a prejudice against Peter sandwiches that are a wrap as opposed to putting the contents inside the pita pocket. This sandwich was a chief example of the difference.
The sandwich was an absolute mess to eat. There's also not very substantial with only two pieces of chicken that tasted dry, and likely previously frozen and tasteless. I asked if they had hot sauce, but what they gave me was likely some canned pureed product that just tasted a vinegar I think and mildly flavored with chili.
Is it really so hard to start with fresh ingredients? The banal proffering would not attract me to ever eat here again. This is strictly student...
Read moreIt’s been a while since I’ve been here, so I was surprised to see the restaurant is under new ownership. The new menu is disorganized and difficult to comprehend (why is there a grocery section?), and it’s missing the lentil soup which was my favorite item.
Walking in, I was greeted with an ordering kiosk instead of a person at the counter. I hate ordering from a kiosk. It makes me feel like I’m at McDonald’s. The restaurant had an off-putting artificial smell, similar to ozone or some kind of cleaner. The change in decor and smell makes the dining area feel clinical.
Nothing to write home about in terms of the food quality, but the atmosphere and menu are definitely different. Not a fan.
Reading other reviews, it seems like the owner brushes off any sort of criticism with some variation of “we’re sorry we didn’t meet your expectations” or another vague corporate-sounding response, so I don’t expect my feedback will change anything. Quite unfortunate, because this used to be my go-to...
Read moreUsed to be a favorite spot of mine. Guessing there are new owners. Website says Seeto Gyros, store says Nok gyros. I originally called to place a pickup order. Whoever answered the phone, simply said hi. That's all. I hung up, figured it was wrong number. Decided to still go in to order. Placed order. Was cheaper than before, so that's cool. But quality was definitely off. Only ordered a gyro. Add feta. Meat was pretty toasty. Definitely over cooked. Tzatsiki sauce was on the side. Had to add it to gyro myself. Order was handed to me in a cardboard holder thing, and the guy giving me my order, handed me a plastic bag. So I could put my order in there myself. Was a little thrown off by that. Usually restaurants do that for you. Overall not a great experience. Maybe an off day, but probably...
