Burger Rush — Restaurant in Tempe

I'm a little conflicted with Burger Rush, as far as quality and flavor goes. On the one hand, you have amazing quality burgers, and on the other, subpar quality sides. The burgers here are easily some of the best tasting, fast food burgers I've ever had. There's really no contest; when it comes to flavor, Burger Rush is the top contender. I got the BBQ bacon burger and the classic burger to compare. The classic burger came with a special sauce that I can't quite name, so that's a little irritating, because it was so good! And the bacon burger had the perfect amount of everything on it. Both burgers were very filling, and after a meal here, I was very content. Unfortunately, the fries here were extremely plain and dull. There is absolutely nothing special about them. They taste like they came out of that grocery store, brown paper bag, completely devoid of flavor. Honestly, they're so bad not even the strongest condiments can cover up the dryness of the fries. I also ordered a strawberry shake, and it honestly tasted worse than McDonald's shakes. If you've ever had the strawberry syrup that the Hershey's company sells in the bottles at the grocery stores, that's what it tastes like. It's a very strong, intense, and recoiling artificial strawberry flavor. I was disappointed with both the shake and the fries.

The reason I'm giving Burger Rush 4 stars, is because I see a ton of potential here. The major changes that should occur here is more attention to the sides. The burgers are beyond perfection and I'm actually surprised that I found a burger joint that sells this type of quality for so little. 2023 Edit: Finally getting around to updating this review. Since I originally wrote my blazing 5 stars one they’ve replaced the patties that were used and they’re not amazing anymore. So I don’t frequent Burger Rush so often anymore except when I have a craving for a blueberry shake or fried zucchini. And fries, can’t forget the fries. But the burgers aren’t all that anymore because the meat is wonky, taste and texture are both wrong and cheap now, they’re thinner, and it makes me sad. This started, I want to say, summer 2022? Not completely sure exactly when because instead of updating this, we just stopped going to burger rush. Recently went back and it hadn’t gotten better yet.

Original 5*: I don’t eat burgers anywhere else anymore. 😂 Everything I’ve ever tried here is GREAT. The zucchini is hand breaded and awesome, I made the mistake of ordering 2 sides of fries once (see photos), and we couldn’t finish them all, on the bright side, they reheat in the oven really well. The fries here are amazing, the burgers are amazing, the staff is amazing. Well.. original staff is always amazing. The new people are still learning, but soon they’ll be amazing too no doubt… I would work here just to be paid in food… 😂 it’s a little pricey for me, but worth it. And that’s honestly probably better for my diet since I’ve traded once a week cheap stuff because the kids want it, for once a month splurging at Burger Rush because we’ve all converted 😂 So totally worth it. I would have pictures But when the food comes it is too good to wait to eat it. Their burgers taste like a BBQ grill and it is authentic because the mesquite grill every one! The food sizes are enough for two meals. I got a traditional cheese burger with the 1000 island dressing, you know old school and it was huge and really good. I also got a large zucchini fried with this fabulous home made ranch for dipping. Superb! Both time the deliver arrived early and hot. I ate dinner and for breakfast had a full meal on left overs. I am a big eater too. Do not miss Burger Rush!

I am adding to this review about a month later. Sunday morning around 11AM I had a delivery fried Zucchini, a grilled burger on rye bread and onion rings. The oil tasted really bad as if it was from the night before. The hamburger was to have extra cheese and Swiss. It had one slice of cheddar. All the food was way too oil laden. I saw a few days ago that they have help wanted signs up. I am assuming the slower and less desirable shifts go to the new or part time cooks. This guy must have been new or perhaps has been fired. Consistency in quality and taste is required but difficult to achieve even in $$$$ places. Warning order during rush meal times. Avoid anything not a traditional burger.
