Denny's — Restaurant in Tempe

To whoever this may concern, my boyfriend and I visited this location for early breakfast and we were really looking forward to it. However, the moment we stepped in we were greeted with terrible service, rude stares, yelling at coworkers and customers alike,heinously talking about us in front of us, and the worst part for both us was that she was vaping while working. The moment we entered no one greeted us for 15-20 minutes ever though there was full staff clocking in and this particular server kept skipping us when she had only one table. Once she finally came to us almost 30 minutes later she came up to us and was extremely rude to my boyfriend by giving him a hard time ordering so that his meal could meet his dietary restrictions for work and personal/ religious reasons. Even though the situation was explained to the waitress in a calm and composed way she nevertheless she gave my boyfriend something he couldn’t really eat but he was too nice to say anything and “bother” her to do her job? At one point I realized I forgot my phone in the car and my boyfriend and I both went out because it was dark and not the best area especially at night for a woman to be walking around even more importantly at night. I tried to explain this to the waitress but she was incredibly rude and have never ever had this happen but the waitress asked us where we were going and yelled at us basically saying that we are not allowed to do that and we must remain seated in our seats? Throughout this entire interaction she would peer though her station and give us nasty looks and even had the audacity to say stuff about how much we annoyed her. This is so unprofessional and rude for a human to act like this way in a restaurant public forum. I have work multiple years at the Biltmore restaurant-Adobe and if I did any of the things that this lady did then I would be fired with no questions asked. Once my boyfriend and I were rushed out of the restaurant because she told us she did not want to leave her shift without transferring her table to another server which is not only unfair to the other server that’s being paid without being paid what should be legally their’s. Once my boyfriend was handed the check we quickly agreed that we would not tip especially because of the way this woman treated us was so disrespectful and rude. Even though I have never gone anywhere and got services or ate anywhere where I don’t ever not tip. She took the check from him and quickly got angry and rudely asked us to leave while still vaping unapologetically. After this, we quickly left and we realized that as we’re walking out she was not only staring at us, cussing us out vocally so loud we could hear it from outside,and the worst thing she did that really left a horrible taste in our mouth was that she flipped us off in front of other staff, customers, people passing by the glass plane and us. Both my boyfriend already promised that even though we would come to Denny’s throughout our childhood and were so excited to go because we haven’t gone in such a long time. Please take the time to consider my feelings and how hurt I am to have experienced that without deserving that sort of treatment! This woman was a little bit heavier set, has brown/blond hair, around 5’9, wore a tightly bounded ponytail, glasses, and talks very slowly and annunciate. After my father's funeral the family decided to call Denny's, to see if they can accommodate 18 to 20 people. We arrive and seating is very scattered and the manager stated that only four people are allowed per table. As my baby sister, myself and my cousin walk over to the restroom to wash our hands we ask two employees, one of which was the manager, for the bathroom key and an employee rudely response "in a minute",while standing there holding with her hands on her hips. After the bathroom is open for us the same employee makes a comment to my cousin asking "are going to leave a tip or what?" My sister replied by saying excuse me what was that. We had only arrived and been there for five maybe 10 minutes and we're in disbelief of the question we were asked. When we try to sit together as a family the same rude employee walked over and said no no this can't happen. If they were not able to accommodate us why did they say yes. And why would we be asked if we're going to leave a tip or what as we just arrived. The manager and the employee were very rude, very inappropriate behavior. We had to bury my father on my baby sisters birthday and for someone to treat anyone in this manner is completely unimaginable to me and I am still in disbelief that the employees and managers chosen behavior and choice of words. We decided to leave and go eat somewhere else and my baby sister being the kind sweet person that she is walked over to the manager and the rude employee, trying to apologize about the misunderstanding of the family wanting to sit together. The manager and a very rude employee decided to cause a scene and yell at my sister causing her to have an anxiety panic attack running out in tears. I understand very well there is a pandemic going on, my dad died from Covid! But for anyone to treat a person, a human being in this manner is completely Inhumane and this employee and manager need to be re-trained on how to treat customers or how to treat a human...

Me and my family just left the Denny's right now the customer service is very terrible the man told us that there was going to be a 20-minute wait for our food we get seated and we proceeded to wait for the waiter or waitress to come and asked us what we would like to drink. We waited nearly 30 minutes for nothing none of the employees approached art able to get us anything to drink. As we were getting ready to leave the manager walked up to us and said we will be with you give us a minute. The waitress was very rude and did not help us at all just kept walking past us and she gave us dirty looks and I could hear her talking to her manager making disrespectful comments about us worst Denny's to ever go to I will never ever ever ever ever ever in my life come to this Denny's again horrible service horrible customer service so I can only imagine how the food tastes horrible even though I did not get to try I waited and waited for nothing thank you Danny for ruining an hour of my time just sitting there looking at me to all the other people that want to come to this Denny's do I highly recommend you go to the Jack in the Box...
