Desert Roots Kitchen — Restaurant in Tempe

I'll begin by saying that there's no actual menu at this location. They do list what they're offering for the day on a small brown paper bag, but it's all crammed in there and there's no descriptions of the food. I was disappointed by this because I had no idea what I was ordering unless I asked, but I didn't have the time or willingness to ask about every single item.

I asked about a couple of items and ended up going with the wrap of the day. I don't recall the exact name, but it had the word rainbow in it. (There wasn't anything colorful about it, oddly enough, so I'm wondering if my order got mixed up.) The wrap was okay but it was kind of boring in terms of flavor. It was a decently sized wrap, so it is enough on its own to fill you up.

I also tried the Rabbit Food side. It was colorful and tasted fresh. I'd probably try it out again if I'm craving something healthful.

I'll probably give this place another try, but I really hope that they start adding descriptions about the menu items to help the customers decide on what to order.

I do think I got a good amount of food for my money and I love that this place is all vegan. I'll be here again. I hope it's better and...

Awful! Overpriced! Only about three selections to choose from. We should of left but Me and My elderly Uncle who is visiting were so hungry. I told her when I called I eat Organic only. My Uncle doesn't however I figured he'd be eating healthier food. I should of photographed our lunch plates! Far from full! Just pathetic! I don't know how she stays in business. I asked her don't you have more of a selection she replied earlier I do... It's late in the day now. Oh! Okay then she should close down. The seating is outside it was cold and so was the food. No hot food on the menu of three items... I saw people going in looking and leaving. That's what I should of done. No hot food available the tea was tastless! I will say tho! My grandtr passed this place the other day & remembered it from 6 yrs ago! The owner was a customer of mine when I worked at the CVS on Mill and always told me to stop in. Unfortunately, the place had closed due to covid, and I no longer worked at CVS. But prior to that I had taken my grandtr down Mill St in 2018 or 2019 when she was only 5 or 6yr old. It was 100° plus outside, and she hadn't eaten. We stopped here wanting water only. But the staff saw she looked sluggish and they ended up giving my grandtr some food and a drink! Free! She absolutely loved it and always wondered what happened. So when she saw it was open while she was on Christmas break she was soooo excited and wants to go back.
