Xtreme bean was my go-to coffee shop. They make exceptional drinks, I will give them that. However, these last few days Iāve been goingĀ I've experienced horrible customer service. The first day I went, the barista that took my order was very rude, and also overheard her saying ā if they wanted me to make this right (a drink I ordered) they would have hired someone with more experience. ā The comment was off-putting and she evidently didnāt realize her headset was still on. The next day I went back and asked about the varieties of loaves they had available since it was on the menu. The barista who took my order told me that ā he didnāt know what I was talking about ā and that he ā never heard of the word loaf/didn't know what that isā. I would think that you would be knowledgeable about the menu because it displayed loaf ( ask about varieties). I paid for the separateĀ orders I placed and went on my way. The next day I went I had asked if I could place two orders again. Mind you, I've been doing so for the past two years I been going to this coffee shop. Never had an issue. The barista tells me it was the same barista that I overheard complaining a few days ago ā I rather you not (place two orders)ā¦so what do you want to get?āĀ It was very rude and snarky. The following day I went back and ordered my regular drink. When I pulled up to collect my item, the barista hands me an iced coffee. The drink that I ordered is a blended drink. I always order the same thing. When I noticed that the drink was iced I politely asked if he could blend it. He says ā uhmmmm yea, our machines are down and it's going to take 30 minutes for it to reprogram soā¦sorry about that...do you want it or no?ā Why didnāt you mention that when I initially ordered my drink knowing that the drink is a blended item. If a machine is down, it should be stated in the beginning before I place my order. Or mentioned after I order something that is a blended beverage. And then today when I went to order the drink, I had asked for two separate orders and the barista who took my order stated ā yea, we cant do that, you can come in and place to orders but not through the drive-thruā¦so what will it be?āĀ When I pulled up to pay, she just stared at me from the behind the window which made me really uncomfortable. And then when she opened the window to collect the payment she didnāt say hi, she gave me no eye contact and I even joked around with her and said I will just drive through the drive-thru again for the second order. She stared down at the pos machine didnāt say anything, handed me my card, and closed the window. I was taken aback. This other barista opens the window and hands me my drink ( it was a gentleman), and I say thank you I appreciate it and that I will go through the drive-thru again to place a new order, the barista just looks at me and says ok with a smiley face. So I turn around and go through the drive-thru again to place an order which was the same order and the barista I just encountered says ā well we ran out of caramel sauce because I had to use the rest of it on your drink, so yea sorry we can'tĀ make that drink for you because we ran out of the sauce ā The worst part was that he had a such a snarky attitude about it. First off, you are a coffee shop, you mean to tell me that you have no backup sauces.Ā The truth of the matter is, is that you didnāt want to make it and you were just being rude. All these incidents happen within 4 consecutive days. At the end of the day, I know you might not like your job or just donāt care about exuding customer service, however, no one is forcing you to work there. Common courtesy does not take much. And customer service should be the number 1 priority in displayed in any business aside from being knowledgeable of the menu. Which was neither demonstrated within these past experiences. I'm notĀ saying the baristas have to be as enthusiasticĀ and helpful as the Dutch Bros coffee shops but it doesnāt take much exude decent customer service and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally I'd give Xtreme Bean a higher rating such as 4 or 5 stars, however my most recent experience here has showed me that their staff is not as friendly as one might think from previous reviews.
The good parts: When I first started going to Xtreme Bean for coffee about a year ago there was this really nice guy that ensured all customers left happily with their coffee and requested food items. I thought he was the owner or manager because he was working just about every day. Service was excellent at this point in time and I didn't have a negative thing to say at all. In fact, one day the guy saw me eying a slice of turtle cheesecake but noticed I requested a cookie. I paid for the cookie and broke a piece off only to notice it tasted stale. I asked the man when the cookies were made and he said something like "last night/this morning". I told him that was odd and described the flavor I had experienced. Rather than giving me a different cookie, he gave me the slice of cheesecake at no extra charge. Excellent service (and the cheesecake was delicious)! This was the reason I continued going to Xtreme Bean, not in the hopes of free/lower priced treats, but the service and caring their employees offered.
The bad: I don't know what happened to that guy or if he still works in the valley even. New employees now work the counter and most days they are polite and friendly. Never had issues... until today. I pulled into the drive through line and couldn't hear them on the speaker so I turned off my car and asked the lady to repeat herself after explaining the sound of my car had drowned her out twice. She asked me to pull up to the window. I tried one of the drip coffees (my normal order is Columbian roast with cream and sugar but I also enjoyed the Ethiopian drip coffee). They didn't have Columbian so I tried their medium-dark drip they had in it's place. The flavor was a bit bold for me so I went with a white mocha and an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. The espresso drink was pretty good. The bagel, burnt to a crisp with plain cream cheese I didn't notice until I had arrived at my destination and couldn't go back.
The lady at the window that made my coffee and let me try the drip was sweet. She had green hair and I think I've seen her before. The blonde lady behind her had a serious attitude today for some reason. While waiting at the window, I noticed a sign that read "Weed Need 5's and 1's or Credit ONly! Sorry for the inconvence!" This sign was written in green marker to make matters worse. After posting it on Snapchat and laughing to myself a little, I decided to call and inform them that something was wrong with their sign. The blonde lady answered the phone. I informed her that "We'd" was spelled incorrectly (I didn't add that "inconvenience" was also misspelled) and didn't want my favorite coffee spot to get shut down over a tiny mistake, she laughed about it and stated they had "some bright ones" working for them. I tried to have her take a look at it and fix it but she retorted with "Are you done?!" To which my calm response was "Yeah, just wanted to let you know. Have a nice-" She hung up on me after ending with "Great. Bye!"
At this point in time, I don't think I will return to Xtreme Bean Coffee as there is nothing there I can't find at another coffee shop. Dutch Bros, Starbucks, and Cartel all have better service and offer pretty much the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe and my friend were very excited to try this coffee shop, the reviews online looked good and so did the photos. However we were left severely disappointed. Upon arrival we could see that it seemed sort of busy, the vibe behind the counter felt very chaotic and unorganized. Once we got up to the counter it did take a minute for someone to help us, when the cashier came to take our order he did not seem to be paying attention and had other things he was doing as well, he had to ask us to repeat our order multiple times. Once we ordered we stepped to the side and waited for our order to be called. They did not take a name nor did we have some sort of number to differentiate orders. Most of the coffee cups were not even labeled. The baristas were calling out orders very quietly and did not repeat the order if no one came to grab it, for reference the place was pretty loud so that did not help. When we went up to ask what the drink was or if it was our order they did not seem to know. After some confusion we finally got our coffee and it was honestly gross, the coffee was somehow not sweet at all and the coffee had no flavor? Then we were waiting on our food, we waited patiently for them to call our food, we did not hear our order but multiple bags of food were sitting on the counter unclaimed so I went up and asked if any of them were ours, the barista had to get someone else to check since none of the bags are labeled in any way. The other barista proceeds to say āI think this is yoursā after I told her what we ordered which I then proceed to say, āyou think?ā She took a moment and told me she was sure. She was not sure, because after leaving the facility and moving to our cars to eat our food we opened the bag to find that my sandwich was completely wrong. I did try the sandwich and it was okay and at this point we were over the place and did not feel like going back in to get this fixed. They get 2 stars because even though it was not what I ordered the sandwich was...
