This place is a hit or miss. My boyfriend and I have gotten a lot of different things from here over the past year. We always get great service from the person serving us but not always the best food. Sometimes it's on spot but not this last visit. I try and leave positive reviews when someone is doing well but also don't get around to a bad reviews as well This location doesn't seem to know or care about their vegetarian food/non meat items Their taco Tues only are for meat eaters- chicken or beef This last visit, I had worked a 13 hour day and drove 2-1/2 hours afterwards back into town and was famished We got to the location at 8pm and they close at 9 I ordered a cheese enchilada and a vegetarian burrito with enchilada sauce. I have a Nicos in Tucson that makes a vegetarian burrito and adds enchilada sauce and it's absolutely delicious so was hoping to recreate that experience The cheese enchilada was really good but the veggie burrito has got to be one of the absolute worst burritos I have ever eaten in my life. It had items in the burrito that were t even supposed to be in it. It was supposed to have Pico de galore and I stead had big slice chunks of tomatoe and fajita mix that had been grilled. The beans were pasty and not very moist. The whole thing did not go well together taste wise. The guacamole was in one spot towards the bottom and was like a watered down guac sauce instead of actual guac It ruined the moment in my mouth that the enchilada put there and just ruined the whole night for me I tried to just power through it and finish the burrito and finally had to give up barely getting halfway through it It left this terrible sour taste in my mouth and like I mentioned earlier, it was like all the flavors were competing with one another and not complimenting each other. The burrito was so terrible and such a disappointment that I have no desire to ever come back to this location again I notified the person at the front counter but had already thrown my food away. Thanks to their great staff for always being on...
Read moreHello,
This was my first experience with Filiberto's. I saw it on the way home from a conference held in Tempe (I'm not from Arizona) and decided to stop in and try it, as it appeared to be an establishment of Mexican cuisine of the quality and authenticity the acclaim of which has spread even so far as to be almost to the status of lore in my hometown.
Item ordered: Beef Chimichanga Quantity: 1 Overall rating: 9.5
Yes, that is a 9.5 out of 10. This is not my first time eating Mexican food, but this surpasses all experience I've had with the cuisine of the region by miles. Maybe even parsecs. To put it into terms for the layman who may just be browsing reviews on more casual terms; Wow. The beef chimi was both delicate and robust; exquisite, yet not so reserved as to betray the simple and savory essence of what a chimichanga is. The dish was fried so flawlessly it practically gleamed like a polished vase under the phosphorescence of the outdoor dining area lighting. The experience of the restaurant itself in combination with the unmitigated pleasure of consuming the beef chimichanga (which I should mention I glazed with their red sauce which can be laddled to hearts content into the circular plastic containers that are kept next to the cauldrons of sauce themselves. Green sauce was also an option, but I was so satisfied with the red that I felt no need to venture further) was, dare I say it, quintessential. I felt a sense of awe. I felt immersed in the culture from which the cuisine was wrought, through centuries of error and perfection. I will certainly remember this experience, and I will recommend it to anyone who get's the opportunity to experience...
Read moreThere is no day in a week that I wouldn't go here for my breakfast burrito except on Sundays. Ive been coming here for almost two months now, Yea, it's definitely time to write a review. Im a happy customer can you tell!? 3 reasons why I love coming to this location everyday. Fast service- I'm very predictable person so l order the same thing. Love getting my breakfast burrito with bacon and NO cheese. I always go drive through too as well. I'm in and out. Quick, fast and easy. (Don't we all want that?) Great food! - I've been to different places for breakfast burrito and no one won my heart except this location. The cook definitely knows how to put gracious amount of BACON! Customer Service- I think this last one will either make or break the business itself. No matter how much I enjoy the menus that it is being served or offered, if you have employees that are displeased, clearly they don't want to be there, it reflects their services.
I can honestly tell their employees are being treated pleasingly. A customer can fire you by going to another store. Griselda is one of those hard working employees that goes above and beyond everyday no matter what the weather is. She always takes time to say "Good morning, welcome back and how is your day". Those little things means a lot specially nowadays when kindness is hard to find. I will definitely be coming back here! And definitely recommend this place. Fillberto's, you need to give this...
