In-N-Out Burger — Restaurant in Tempe

This location does not live up to the standards set by the many settlers who endured the harsh desert climate as well as the Hohokam who engineered the irrigation system that made it possible for such an establishment to thrive here today. I worked from 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM today and this was just one time too many for the same experience I've had so many times. Firstly, I want to speak to you the people. Did you know there are two lanes in this drive thru? People at this location are often getting in fights over this, but this may be partially due to the sign being in English only: "Por favor, use ambos carriles." It's not really worth it for me to have El Capitán Cerebro de Mono or some Krillin looking midget (no offense to real midgets) in a lifted truck chimping out because he thinks he won't get his order fast enough. They are very fast here. Maybe too fast. The girl taking orders was excellent. She was outside seamlessly switching between taking orders in Spanish and English in the middle of a lightning storm. I get to the window and they confirm the order. Everything seems to go well up to this point. It always does. I even bought a milkshake for the guy behind me for not acting like a jerk. He probably works for a living too. Anyway, I finally get up to the pick up window after the, presumably, drug dealer in a Jeep he looked way too stupid and high to afford was gone. Once again, and this is why I had to go ahead and leave this review, they got the order wrong. I'm pretty sure this has happened every single time at this location. Two people confirmed the order and it still came out wrong. I don't have the time nor am I inconsiderate enough of the long line behind me to hold up the drive thru and check all the burgers packed tight in those greasy boxes I'm trying not to get all over my whip. The restaurant was semi-cleaned. I mean food wasn't hanging from the ceiling or anything but there were some tables that could of used a wiping down. The place was super busy, the servers actually handled the stress of a busy place and hungry people pretty well. I had to give my order to the cashier 4 times, she kept getting the no tomato incorrect, she kept wanting to give 3 no tomato when I needed only 2, but she was nice & didn't get frustrated at all. When I was done with the order I grabbed the drinks, set them on the counter and waited as they prepared the food, one of the workers noticed me & told another worker to make sure I didn't need anything else, that was good thinking on his part cuz I didn't get my milkshakes at that point, where other people I noticed had gotten theirs right away while waiting for their food. Maybe, she wanted to make sure I didn't drink it all first and spoil my dinner or I will have something to drink whilst eating. Whatever the case maybe, the milkshakes were ok, I have had better, I have made better and that matters a lot. Finally, after about 45 mins I got my order, everything as I ordered it. The burgers were great, the animal sauce is always yummy of course, I really don't care for their fries but they were hot and fresh. They handled the busy line really well. This place has some great trainers or high school kids are getting better at listening and working well together because everything was well executed, food was out in a timely matter, workers were polite and organized. I had a phenomenal experience here and would love to give a shout out to the team who was working on Tues Aug 20 at 11:42 am. I was buying lunch for my staff at the drive thru and had 10 separate, individual orders. I felt extremely guilty, but the lady taking my order (I believe her name was Camille) was extremely kind and did not make me feel like a burden. Every single order was specific and customized (no spread, extra pickles, animal style, etc), so I was expecting to have at least 1 incorrect or missed item after all was said and done. Camille repeated the order back to me without missing a beat and happily took my payment. I got to the window ready to apologize to the crew for the big annoying order, but every team member greeted me with a smile and friendly hello and chat. After about a minute at the window, the manager (Andrew? I'm so sorry I didn't write your name down!!) stopped by to apologize TO ME for the "long wait". They had the entirety of my order ready no less than 2 minutes later. They even organized all of the food or drinks so it was simple to figure out whose order was whose!!! When I got back to work, I was so shocked to see that not only did they make every single item exactly as I ordered, everything was fresh and hot and delicious!!!
