Upon entering the establishment for the first time to collect my takeout order, I was acknowledged by a staff member. Having been recognized, I stated, "Hi, I am here to pick up my Uber...," to be spoken over mid sentence with, "I'll be with you in a minute," while her back was turned to me as she worked on my actual Uber order, a detail she could have indicated in small talk as a courtesy, not a loving vibe lol. As I waited, I observed a significantly large cockroach ascending the front panel beneath the cash register, a sight both alarming and disconcerting.
Given the presence of several patrons nearby and the somewhat curt demeanor of the staff member, I opted to refrain from commenting, although it would have been a courtesy to do so. It seemed prudent to avoid any potential misunderstanding, which she appeared primed for, that could arise from my intervention. Consequently, I quietly received my order, met with a passive-aggressive stare from her; I responded with a polite smile and departed.
Despite this unsettling experience, I intend to continue patronizing this establishment due to severe health issues and specific dietary restrictions. The culinary quality of the food justifies my return. However, I will certainly be more vigilant in inspecting my meals prior to consumption and hope for a more relaxed interaction in the future.
I would earnestly advise the management to consider engaging a professional pest control service, enhancing the decor as a partition separated the food preparation area from the dining room (either show it or hide it), and importantly, fostering a more personable and welcoming atmosphere for all patrons, regardless of race, color, creed, or gender. These improvements are crucial not only for customer satisfaction but also for the establishment’s overall ambiance and...
Read moreMy husband and I have been long-time customers of this loving hut but recently some of their changes have made us hesitant to come back... About a month or two ago they started limiting their vegetable selection in their entrees, which is a BIG disappointment for a plant-based/vegan restaurant. Then tonight when we went, all their lights were out, their lighted open sign was off, the gal who took our order was rude, they drastically changed the formulation of their entrees, and their prices increased between $1-3 per entree.
As far as their dietary changes to their orders I would NOT recommend coming here if you have a food allergy, as their staff is often rude about it. They only have 2 gluten free meal options. Plus, they just switched from using a high quality oil in low quantities to using peanut oil in large quantities. The food used to taste spot on, and is now much lower quality, and literally made me sick to my stomach...
Very sad to see Loving Hut going downhill and making poor business choices when they thought no one would notice. I don't appreciate businesses making poor choices when they think no one is noticing, and then charging more for cheaper products... I'd rather they make transparent choices and post a sign. Not nickel and dime me, make the food taste worse, and decrease the quality of the products going into my plant-based meal.
I'm going to have a hard time coming back here after their 1-2 month...
Read moreLoving hut has a few locations in AZ but this one on E Southern Ave is #1! The food portions are wonderful, the staff is kind and honest, and their wall of vegans and inspirational quotes bring grounding and awareness without feeling pushy but rather wholesome and familial is something to look forward to. It feels very open in the dining area with plenty of parking, and the entire menu (all vegan) is quite extensive so bringing people here is great whether after work or for takeout; Extremely satisfying no matter your dietary lifestyle. My favs: Save the Planet Curry with thick rice noodles! (They use all non-gmo proteins and organic tofu. The menu also has a gluten free soy free spicy key). Saigon rolls and the Rainbow salad are also light and delicious! I prefer gluten free but tried a bite of the golden rolls and they are divine if you’re looking for a good appetizer! Definitely has a younger energy inside compared to the one on E Indian School which also makes a great curry but draws an older crowd. This location even has student discounts on Tuesday and an option to pay it forward to purchase a meal for someone, as well as time to time, donate items for animals or attend other vegan gatherings. You'll be feeling the love when you leave so stop in and...
