Update - I returned this evening and received a warm welcome from the hostess and my server. Before I asked for the Mgr., Andrew, the server Stephanie had already demonstrated that I was going to have a great dining experience. When I asked if Andrew was available, Stephanie did not appear concerned (she didn’t have a reason to be). Andrew was such a pleasure to meet, apologized again and shared how my comments were used to train the staff. Stephanie was very attentive and continued to check on me and my friend once our food was delivered. While she was especially attentive to us, I observed her interaction with other customers, and it was clear that she gave all customers the same high level of customer service that we are accustomed to at Oreganos. Thanks again Andrew, Stephanie, Darrin (the other manager on duty after Andrew left for the day). I will be back. This is a great example of service recovery.
Update - I received a message from one of the Mgrs, Andrew, and had a great conversation with him about my experience. He apologized and will use my comments to help coach the waitress on the service failure to help her recognize when something is going wrong, what she can do to attempt to avoid/fix, and when to involve a Mgr. I truly appreciate him taking the time to respond and apologize for the service failure. I will be visiting again and hope I receive the same level of service that I am accustomed to at Oreganos. I will write a new review and hopefully, it will be all 5 stars. Thanks Andrew.
Today, I had the worst experience ever at this location. The server was pleasant, but her service sucked. I ordered a slice of pizza (from the kids' menu), a side salad, and garlic bread. The pizza was cold, and the toppings were not cooked, just tossed on top. The salad was supposed to come out before the pizza, but the pizza was delivered, and the server's excuse was, "Someone was supposed to bring them out". After saying they were ready and sitting on the counter, she didn't prioritize bringing the salads out. When she finally brought them to the table, I told her it was too late, I was already eating my pizza. Then we had to ask multiple times for the garlic bread. She said the kitchen was busy and orders were behind. She finally brought it out, approximately. 10 mins. No apology, just the excuse that the kitchen was busy. When she brought the bill, I assumed she would not charge for the salad, but I was wrong; she did. I wrote a long note on the receipt expressing my disappointment with the service and food. She finally picked up the folio. I assumed (shame on me), that she would read the note and apologize, especially since I wrote that the price of the salad was her tip. It was bad enough that she provided poor service and blamed the kitchen, but a manager was walking around but never asked if...
Read moreThere were 3 of us for dinner. Our ASU student and us travelling from san diego. Everyone got their order except for me. I ordered the lasagna with a side meatball and sausage. The waitress "Mylo" kept making excuses why it was late , then she mentions that its made fresh daily. Halfway through everyone else's dinner, my meatball and sausage was cold. My wife and son had finished and had asked for boxes when my meal finally came. My meal should have been comped. You would think that she would have been totally apologetic, but no.. Just a big yeay when she finally arrived with my meal and my other two were packing leftovers. My sausage was hard and cold but i still packed it to go for the dog. We ordered cheese cake, both orders were frozen. We could only eat the tip(thin) part of the slice. My son ordered something with a scoop of ice cream. She was starting to put it into a to go container until i said, hey wont that melt, to which she responded as that he could put it in the freezer when he got home. This waitress tried to be like she could care less. We were there outside beside a table(8 people) that got there way after us and they left before us. Worst experience at Oreganos. I hope the other location comes back to full seat in quick.
Update. Luis Reyes actually posted to the reviews that he wanted to hear more and have me his email address. I have emailed his twice before and once again yesterday , no response. I also phoned for him twice. The first time, he was not in and I left a message for him to call me. The second time, he actually came to the phone, but asked me to hold for a second. I held for 15 minutes before hanging up...This is how you treat a 12...
Read moreI wanted to go to an italian restaurant that had nice traditional italian dishes, Oregano's is not that place and can be classified as North America-Italian fusion.
The bruschetta was served with long narrow slices of bred (roll sliced at an angle) which made it difficult to keep the topping composed on the bread which created an unpleasant experience.
Ordered the Dark Alfredo, interesting dish, but the chicken was disgusting and tough to chew. Since the Dark Alfredo sauce is made using jalapeno's the dish was topped with a large whole jalapeno in the middle. This was something more than what I was expecting as I wanted a simple dish. After picking at the food like Gordan Ramsey in Kitchen Nightmares I decided to eat half of the pasta portion of the dish. Finished with the edible portion of the dish and leaving more than half of it left the waitress did not bat an eye when I didn't want a to go container for the rest of my meal.
When she took my card I asked if she can take off the extra charge for the chicken due to it not being edible. She said she would ask her manager. The manager came over and in a condescending way gave me (the customer) a "coaching session" on how and when I should explain my dissatisfaction with the dish so that they can make another one. However that is not something I wanted as I did not want to wait for another dish to be prepared while my other party awkwardly ate theirs or obligate themselves to wait for mine to be ready out of politeness causing their meal to become cold. The manager stated she would take the charge off this one time.
Overall I'm dissatisfied...
