.......................UPDATE................. Tried this place again, I did not know it could get worse but here goes......I wanted shrimp, was told "we don't have that anymore" ok ordered a sandwich meal. 6 wings and a tender combo, 1 diet coke 1 reg coke. Sat in line forever. Paid over $25 for this mess. I ask, do you no longer have shrimp, reply was that" the truck did not come in". Does that mean you no longer have shrimp or you ran out? Then were told after I paid that they have no coke, no diet drinks period? so we had to get root beer which we do not care for. Then I had to ask for napkins. Then when we get home I see they gave no straws no spoon for the mash potatos. The chicken sandwich was a sponge. The mall fries were actually about 7 fries in that container. No sauce offered for tenders. The wings were cooked I am guessing days ago. The kicker, look at the size of these wings. Is this a joke? This place sucks period. .........................................First thing, we have been eating here since this location was built and never,never had a problem. Tonight my wife orders through an app. Gave the girl working the intercom the number and asked for mashed potatoes and CAJUN RICE. Started to pull forward and my wife tells me that cajun rice ws not on the menu board. ok so we get to the window and I ask the guy who took my credit card "do you still have cajun rice?" He could hardly muster up the energy to tell me "Yes" I say "are you sure? its not on the menu board" He mumbles out another "yes" I say ok. Hands me the bag and I ask again "you did give me cajun rice right?" Yes he says again. I pull forward open the bag and surprise, red beans and rice. I pull around the building to go inside to make things right. Doors are locked. drive thru only. Now I have to sit in this line again. Now im upset. Get to the window and I just about screamed for the manager. I told him that I asked 4 times to be sure there would be no mistake. He says "oh you want cajun rice? He says "oh its been discontinued". I say well why didnt he tell me that?, he says "it was a minor mistake". But somehow they did have cajun rice. Anyway when I get home Surprise surprise, no mashed potatoes . bisquits were hard like hockey pucks and the chicken was not fresh. There is a difference between hot fresh chicken and hot chicken thats been sunbathing under a heat lamp. If you put an employee at the window, maybe teach them a little something called customer service. Maybe just a hello. If they do not know the menu or how to speak clearly the have them mop floors until they do. Poor management at its finest. Have it on video if you would like to dispute my claim.....................Update 5/10/22 I love fried chicken. Unfortunately Gus's and Lo lo's are too far from home so we took a chance on this place again. This meal is a 5pce chicken 2 small sides and 2 bisquits. Supposed to feed 2 people but as you can tell the sides are a fraud. Seriously does this place not make enough money that they have to steal back the food you pay a premium for? It used to be a good place. Also got a chicken sandwich that came out of the aluminum bag like a sponge and the fries were not fresh either. Literally about a teaspoon of each side. Hope they hurry up and finish the Gus's in ahwatukee soon. Stays at 1 star and 6 yucks. Thanks popeye. Al Copeland is rolling over in his grave............................................

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a serious incident that occurred at your Popeyes location at 1615 W Elliot Rd, Tempe, AZ on August 27, 2025.
During my visit, your General Manager escalated a situation instead of de-escalating it. He used profane language, threatened physical violence toward my child’s father, and referred to him using racial slurs. This behavior was not only deeply unprofessional but also created a hostile and unsafe environment for both my family and other customers present.
Because of the severity of the incident, I contacted the Tempe Police Department, who documented the matter under Report #25-88690, Officer Staab. While the manager told us to leave and the police categorized this as trespassing once we remained to ask for the manager’s name, that does not excuse the manager’s threats, profanity, or racial harassment.
I also want to emphasize that this incident caused me to miss an important medical appointment for my autistic daughter, adding additional harm and stress to an already traumatic event.
I am requesting the following from Popeyes Corporate:
A formal investigation into this manager’s conduct.
Assurance that corrective action will be taken to ensure no other customer experiences this treatment.
A written response from corporate regarding how this matter will be addressed.
I believe this situation violates not only Popeyes’ customer service and workplace conduct standards, but also raises serious concerns about discrimination, harassment, and public safety.
You may reach me I am also prepared to provide the police report and any recordings I have from the incident.

Read moreI like Popeye's. The concept and the food are good. They could be much better. There is no consistency with food preparation. I like the spicy chicken sandwich, but sometimes you get the sauce, and sometimes you don't. Sometimes it has Pickles, sometimes it does not. Sometimes the strips are well prepared, and sometimes they are either overcooked or are limp and soggy like they have been sitting around all day. I like their shrimp, but these are always better when you dine in. I sometimes dine in, but I like to use the app, and pick up my order. When picking up, no matter how many sauces I order, they never give them to me. Also they have items on their app that they do not sell anymore. For example, on my last order, I ordered 1/2 gallon of Hawaiian Punch and was told that they do not sell that anymore and that they cannot refund items on app orders. I was told that I could take six small cups and fill them up to make 1/2 gallon, but that they had no drink carriers. I was alone and don't have that many drink holders in my car. The service is always way below par, and the workers are almost always full of attitude and just don't seem to care. My wife was at a location where there were wet floor signs out, but the employees did not clean up the puddles coming from beneath their drink machines. She fell, and hurt her knee, because clearly the employees believe that all they have to do is place signs. Given the general attitude of workers, it appears to me that they as employees are not well supported. I have the app and order a time or two a week, but I have yet to go to a Popeye's location where the experience was overall good, and without any issues.
