A very nice looking place very cute, the ambiance was delightful and the seating was very comfortable. We got the grandmas Mac as an appetizer and it was so good and gluten free, we also ordered the pesto and goat cheese with gluten free bread. One of my guests has celiac disease and is very sensitive to gluten, his food cannot touch anything that has come into contact with gluten, I tried to explain this to the waitress and she immediately cut me off and said “so gluten free” which in its barest form was what I was asking for. However I moved on assuming she cut me off because she already had knowledge of his ailment. All three of us ordered sandwiches with gluten free bread so we could all share, but when the waitress was asked further about the prep of the food our appetizers she said the bread for our pesto goat cheese was toasted on the same cook tops as the normal bread. So he couldn’t eat that because of the risk of cross contamination. After further explaining his allergy she said they would toast the bread separately, but when the sandwich came out they hadn’t toasted the bread at all which wasn’t a big deal to my companion. However by now my companion had no faith in the restaurant to have been careful enough to not make him Ill and didn’t end up eating his Cuban sandwich. Aside from the allergen portion of this restaurant it was merely ok. The food wasn’t amazing and nothing was to noteworthy, the server was horribly rude and dismissive throughout our visit. She also whines that my companion hadn’t eaten his food saying “well the chefs try their best” Which I’m sure they do but after her ignorance about his condition it just wasn’t safe enough to take the risk of being terribly Ill for the rest of the evening and maybe even next day. This restaurant falsely puts on an image of understanding gluten free and people with celiac but in reality there servers at the very least have no idea what they are talking about. If you have someone with you that has a food allergy or if you want polite and helpful waitstaff this restaurant is...
Read moreI’ve been eyeing this place for a couple of years, and my mom and I finally tried it out for lunch on a Thursday! We arrived at around 11:45 and the parking lot was already full. Thankfully, we found street parking on the opposite side of the building. Even though it was a packed lot, we were still able to sit down right away (even though our options were at the bar or outside since the inside was completely full). We opted to sit at the bar since it was quite breezy outside.
Our server came around quickly, started us off with waters, and it wasn’t long until we placed our orders. I ordered the La Lucy in a wrap with chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. Whenever there are sweet potato fries on the menu as a side, TRUST I will be getting them. My mom ordered the Mediterranean in a wrap with chicken and a side of the sweet potato fries too.
Overall, the fries were the best part of the meal. The wraps, on the other hand, we’d give them a 3/5 stars. My wrap was hefty! I could barely fit my mouth around it lol. However, just because the portion was big, doesn’t mean it was a good thing. The tortillas were very thin and became slimy/soggy almost immediately. My mom’s first half of her wrap fell apart on her and she had to eat the rest with a fork and knife. I took some of my wrap home and had it later for dinner, and couldn’t eat it as a wrap because the tortilla completely fell apart. Not to mention the ingredients made everything slide right out of it. Also, the feta cheese in my wrap tasted almost like blue cheese (blue cheese is disgusting). The chicken didn’t have much flavor and a lot of bits were hard/crunchy. It felt like I was eating tendons or something? I don’t know, but when the tortilla falls apart and you have to eat it with a fork and knife, you’re able to dissect it easily lol.
Other than that, the service was good and quick, but for the price point, we were expecting more of...
Read moreCame here for my birthday after a WONDERFUL experience with a friend of mine a few weeks ago. But... this time around it was so disappointing. It started out fine, food came out fast and delicious (despite very unprofessional presentation of the food*) but after that the service gave us the impression that we were forgotten about-- repeatedly. Since it was my birthday, in the beginning we were offered free dessert. This was offered again when we asked for the check. My party and I had truly forgotten about the perk, so we accepted, assuming the check would be close behind if not given with the dessert (after sitting for 45 minutes post-meal, and it was 8pm and freezing so we were anxious to leave). The dessert took another 15-20 minutes, and came out hot but TERRIBLY undercooked (cobbler). None of us took more than a bite. The person who delivered it also looked bored and audibly yawned whilst setting it down on the table. Waiting another 15 or so minutes in the cold, we had to go inside and again ask for the bill. Our server was pleasant overall, but found eagerly trying to leave (side work was clearly their priority). Happy birthdays were exchanged, but the disappointing service unfortunately was the most memorable part. We also wondered if it was know that we were forgotten, because our drinks (both alcoholic and NA) were not included on the bill. But after 2.5 hours of being there we just decided to leave after paying instead of further extending our stay.
*Whoever assisted the server to run food looked bored, and announced that she didn't know what she was holding and just handed it off to one of the persons...
