My Asian family and I saw the positive reviews for Little Szechuan Restaurant and tried it for take out dinner. We ordered wor wonton soup, chicken broccoli dinner plate with fried rice, egg rolls, Dan Dan Noodles, Tofu Eggplant. About $50 worth of food. Wait time was long, nice woman said because food is made fresh. Ok. Large Wonton soup was bland and flavorless, small size, NOT quart size as ordered but pint size. Chicken Broccoli plate was was so bland and weird. Chicken broccoli was cubed with congealed sauce, a scoop of it in a corner. Fried rice was just plain rice, dyed brown with soy sauce, no egg or vegetables mixed in, just plain rice bland. Plain Lo mein noodles were on the plate too, not sure why, but bland fat udon noodles. Weird. Dan Dan noodles were spicy, but again with the cubed chicken and frozen peas and carrots mixed in. Definitely not authentic. Large Tofu eggplant was only a PINT size bland, swimming in a congealed sauce with more frozen peas and carrots. Everyone was just perplexed, confused, disappointed and frustrated by the positive comments and reviews. We just wanted some good simple Chinese food after a long drive to our hotel. Very bland food and very...
Read moreHow does this place have over 4 stars? Their food is bad. Their dining area is part storage and part sports/beer paraphernalia. I've been here many many times because it's the closest Chinese food near me. And I'm not sure how I've gotten by this long. Tonight is the night I no longer return. My takeout cravings were absolutely destroyed and I'm angry. They give appetizers with no sauce. How can they do this? Shrimp appetizers are breaded with literally no seasoning and no sauce. It's grease flour and shrimp. And it's quite gross. Egg rolls and crab puffs? Also mediocre, lacking flavor, and no sauce. There are a few items that are ok, but their menu is a minefield. One of them is about 70% chile de arbol and nearly inedible unless you enjoy snot and tears running down your face while you eat. I'm convinced the cooks don't eat anything they serve. Many dishes are bland, some are just.. odd tasting.. and others, like their mushu wraps, leave mostly the taste of raw flour in my mouth. For too long I tried to like this place but I cannot return and I am perplexed that it has such a high rating....
Read moreJust got done eating here for lunch today. I read the reviews and they were mostly good, so I thought I would try it. 3 stars is FAIR. I got the Chow Mein Lunc Special. The water btw, is nast city tap water. Gross. The first thing that came out was the small bowl of hot and sour soup. Now, Im no chef, but am a pretty good cook and I have microwaved this soup before, and thats exactly what it tasted like and looked like. The consistency of the broth was very heavy. Did not like it. Next came out the eggroll. It was excellent! Really crunchy and hot. Very fresh. Next came out the main dish, the Chicken Chow Mein. WAY, WAY too oily. It destroyed the dish. The rice was cold and hard, some chicken pieces were undercooked, but all I could taste was oil. Bleh. Now Im giving it three stars because the service was amazing. Really nice people. For how much food was put in front of me, the price (seven dollars and change w/tax) wasnt too bad. Respectfully, I wont be...
