Pizza & Grill — Restaurant in Tempe

My wife and I are in town from Colorado for a wedding. Across the road from our hotel, we found Pizza & Grill in a strip mall. We thought we'd just drop in for a little lunch since the place was so close. Instantly, we learned there was way more to the menu than pizza! Gyros, Shawarma, Falafel, and much, much more. With us for lunch were my two sisters and one's caregiver.

As we entered the restaurant, a man came up and warmly welcomed us. He guided us through the menu and everything sounded good. Most of us ordered Gyro plates although one of us ordered a Greek salad. Thinking Gyros plates must be a Gyros sandwich with some sides, we were surprised when large platters came out. We decided the platters were designed for sharing, but each of us got our own. Each Gyros plate contained Gyros meat, fresh vegetables, hummus, olives and on and on. Huge portion. But, so very good. Gyros meat can become tough when grilled but this was very tender. The hummus was also outstanding and the deep flavor of the yellow and orange bell peppers was so good.

Our experience was so oustanding that the three of us staying at the same hotel walked over a day later. This time, we decided to order a Greek pizza which the proprietor recommended. This pizza had a thin chewy crust with many toppings including Gyros meat as well as tons of veggies and mushrooms. The dark tomato sauce reminded me of tomato paste with a concentrated tomato flavor. And Tahini sauce to accompany the pizza. Everything was outstanding.

We did save room for two of the seven types of baklava available, the two with chocolate. One was rolled and had a small drizzle of chocolate and the other was a layered baklava with chocolate and, I think, pistachios. Both were wonderful.

This unassuming, small location is such a jewel! From the collection of A ratings from health inspectors to the tons of enthusiastic online reviews, the food is outstanding. It is not possible to walk...

Where do I even … started working in the same plaza as ‘Pizza & Grill’ back in March. First time ordering, I got wings. I’m fortunate was not able to sit and enjoy the food, sadly had to return to work. Let the owner know I would be returning to grab my pizza once it was ready..assured me that he would deliver once it was ready. Allowing me to take care of my customer.. I was in disbelief because I had never experienced customer services like this before.. got my wings..Firstly they were very fresh, sauce wasn’t overpowering. tons of meat on the bone, very filling… but fast forward to today, Was in search for a delicious pizza place… “I” being set on wanting a pizza from the other “well known pizza places” ..me being caught up with work did not realize there was already a pizza joint a couple doors down.. placed an order. after placing the order a couple minutes go by, who do I see walking in with pizza… ‘the owner’ still amazes me… for a large pepperoni pizza my gosh when I say this pizza was phenomenal, it was. It felt ‘fresh’ not like other pizza companies… pizza was not to soggy an not to crunchy, perfect blend of both. Exquisite ratio of being not to thin and not to thick. Can safely break apart the slice without fear of the cheese ripping off.. a very good variety of condiments.. above and beyond service…Would highly...

“Hands down the best Pizza I have ever eaten. My Freinds and I were visiting Arizona and I was looking for a Pizza restaurant in the area and I have found out this place with allot of good reviews which had my attention to try their Pizza. I’m a Pizza lover and most of the time when traveling I’m definitely looking for good restaurants especially Pizza/middle eastern cuisine. I have tried allot different Pizza restaurants in probably more than 20 different states in United States but I found this one completely different. The Supreme which The large Pizza with halal pepperoni had great flavor and was AMAZING. But also the owner of the restaurant was very friendly and has great customer service. I can not say more still can’t forget the taste, if you’re a Pizza lover & living or visiting Arizona then you have to try this Pizza & Grill .”
