I need to set the stage for my review. Its 2 days before bike check in for the Ironman Arizona. This shop is about a mile from where the race center is. Meaning - every neurotic athlete is realizing they need to do something with their bikes last minute. I have historically never been that guy. I take care of my bike and keep up on preventive maintenance. Well, not this time. I realized my front chainring was shot. My bike is 4 years old and shimano has released 2 new generations of groupsets now. I also have a relatively mid-low end bike. So i walk into this shop. Andrew and Andy were SUPER nice. They didn't patronize me for being an idiot and also didn't tell me they couldn't help me or try to sell me something I didn't need. They found a part out of the parts bin they were able to make work for my bike. I am very grateful for these folks here. And lets not forget the really cool vibe of the coffee shop up front. If youre in the market for a bike or need an upgrade, this is a must-stop place.
My past review from 4 years ago This is a place you need to stop by if you are in Old Town Scottsdale and need a coffee shop. Or, if you are cyclist in the Phoenix area. Even if you are in a different part of the valley - trust me, its worth the drive. The people here are laid back and professional. This isn't your typical highfalutin, ego trip bike shop. This place feels like a coffee shop, that just happens to have a bike shop in the back. People are here to hang out, relax, and "regroup". I had a bike serviced here recently and as i sat there listening to the various conversations that ensued, they were about unrelated topics; family, cars, and casual work chat from some folks at a table working on a laptop. Alex was in the shop area helping me. He was extremely professional and kind in his approach with me, and other customers. I can't wait to get back down there for...
Read moreI was interested in a custom-built titanium road bike and after much research, settled on a Mosaic RT-1. Mosaic's website listed Regroup as their local dealer in the Phoenix area. I called and spoke with Adam (the owner) and made an appointment to meet and discuss what I was looking for. When you're building a custom bike, there are many decisions about components that must be made and there is the fitting issue. Fortunately, Adam is extremely knowledgable and very organized easy to work with. I made an appointment with CycloLogic in Scottsdale and went through a fitting process (which was fantastic) and gave the information to Adam. We had several back and forths with Mosaic to determine the exact specs and when were provided with the exact specs, placed the order. Adam ordered the various components so that by the time the frame was built (about 7 weeks) all the components were at his shop and Anthony, the bike tech assembled the bike flawlessly in one day. The bike it beautiful (photos are on his website), fits like a glove and rides exactly as it hoped it would. Adam was extremely helpful in advising and selecting all the components and the process went seamlessly. I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience. Thanks Adam and Anthony!! Next, my custom...
Read moreWife and I came for some good Scottsdale espresso!!!! I ordered my staple small Iced Mocha. Espresso was not quite enough, didn’t realize it was a 16oz drink. In my opinion a double shot works best in a 12oz, in a 16oz I would step up to a triple shot. But what I tasted of espresso was definitely good and complimentary as the base of the latte (wife agreed). Milk was standard and in-turn good, just too much to scale seeing as the espresso was a bit less. Mocha was tasty, nice and sweet like I enjoy, it was a good quantity for me (not too sweet but still there to keep it from being just milk and espresso).
Service was awesome, the two guys were very kind and laughed at my lame jokes haha. The vibes were SUPER solid. Excellent decoration. I am not a bicycler in the slightest but I thought they were a nice touch to the coffee shop! Felt hip and fun. I would go again, but because of the espresso dilemma I would search around a bit more first. (Again, still 4 stars, I’m fairly picky with that so that’s the only reason it’s not a 5! I enjoyed...
