Hi readers,
If you are reading this do not go to this place, many other better nail salons in the area. For some reason my Google account glitched and said they were rated 4.5 starts, but it reloaded after I got back and has 3.8 stars. I do not know why they are rated that high considering I found them on Google. For other people looking at the Google review like I did and wondering if they should go here, please read my post. They get you in fast which is good, but that may not always be a good thing.
I got there and the lady that they assigned me to, kept leaving to do other things during my mani/pedi. She made me put my feet in the water, it was SO hot it hurt my feet. I told her it was warm and she fixed it shortly after, but shouldn't she feel it first before I burn my foot? It really hurt.
Next, she used tools that were not new, and very dirty and gross, which concerned me. The tools were not new. Many other salons in other areas use new tools to prevent infections. On top of that the girl was sick, I do not want her touching my feet or hands if she is sick and her nose is running and she is sneezing a lot. She does not need to infect people who are there and healthy, she should stay home, not be working on people.
I got a normal pedicure / manicure which included a lotion massage and a foot scrub. She literally used a buffer for 10 seconds and put it down. It did not help my feet it made it MUCH worse. Her lotion massages HURT she did NOT know what she was doing. I think that was the worst part of my experience was that. She gripped WAY too hard on my arms, and legs that my arm still hurts from it. She put NO lotion on barley anything, like a nickel size amount and she had rough skin, it just all hurt.
The way she filed my nails. My finger nails they are all uneven, I could do better myself. She did not shape them at all, she used the file once, but literally does not know how to use a file. My nails are currently uneven, which was a reason I was looking forward to going in, I would get my nails to be better. The way she did polish was not good she got polish on my hands, and, some under my nail. She cut my toe nails WAY too short, she did not ask she just started cutting them.
Moral of the story is this was the worst experience I have ever been to a nail salon in Tempe. To AZ Tip & Toes Nails, if you are reading this please look more into who you hire. The person I got did not know what she was doing. Also if people are sick, please worn customers ahead of...
Read moreIf I could rate this place a zero star I would. Although what seemed to be the manager\owner was very kind. The gentleman however who did my pedicure was quite rude and aggressive. I felt rushed during my pedicure and for some reason I was tagged teamed for my mani and pedi. As I am trying to look for a color the lady doing my manicure is waiting over my shoulder acting as though I was wasting her time. (Although no one was there and I never indicated that I was in a rush) As she begins on my fingernails, the man doing my pedicure is pulling out a ingrown I obviously twitched and she said, “Can you stay still”... I instantly replied back with “can you just wait till he is finished pulling them out because, they are painful and I can’t sit still”. She then rolled her eyes and continued on without any consideration. Once the male finishes pulling out ingrowns he slabs oil and lotion on my legs slaps it on and barley rubs it in..... To top it off the male who did my toes was very impatient and puts my shoes on before even painting my toes... Holds my toes down telling me, “don’t move”. After he finishes painting my toes and getting nail polish all over my skin, he had to use nail polish remover to remove his piss poor job, he then tells me to follow him 5 seconds after he finished.... He rushes me to the counter and then Nickel and dimes on everything... I guess removing your nail polish cost 5 dollars...... (I have never been anywhere were it cost money to remove nail polish) So he can get paid right then and there. I would have been better off having a slumber party and getting my toes painted by teenagers...
Read moreI found this place on Yelp and believe it is fitting to share my awful experience. My frustration is two-fold. I went in for a gel manicure last week and was very disappointed with the outcome.
First off, I had to ask 2 times for my nails to be re-filed so that they were straight, the manicurist ultimately fixed this. My real frustration was with how my nails were painted. I made two separate comments to the manicurist while he was doing my nails that he wasn't painting the full nail (he missed the sides and the nail bed). I was in a hurry when he finished my manicure and left the salon. When I got to my dinner, I noticed how poorly painted my nails were despite my repeated requests. I was really trying to ignore it, but I couldn't anymore, so 3 days after my manicure, I went back to the salon.
I went back into the studio and talked to a different man than the one who had done my nails. I calmly showed him my nails and shared that my manicure was unsatisfactory and I wanted them re-done. At first he appeared to be willing to replace my service and then he told me that my nails had just grown out (it had only been 3 days and it looked like it had been 2 weeks) and when I reminded him it had only been 3 days, he told me that this is the proper way to do gels and that if you get too close to the cuticle it peels off. I have had a lot of gel manicures and I know that that is not the case.
I decided that the replacement service was just not worth fighting over, so I told him that the service provided was sub-par and that I would...
