The "Papago Park" name covers a pretty large area. The park near the Hole in the Rock is a must see and that is near the Zoo and Gardens area. Very nice park area with great views. The little "Papago Park" on the corner E Curry & N College is actually pretty run down and full of questionable characters and acts. Kinda strange considering the area. Drugs, trash, beggars and, those annoying scooters that are everywhere tossed in the pond. Definitely avoid this park area and stay on the trails behind it and keep going. Has potential.

Papago Park, just 3 miles from..Papago Park. This is Papago Park in Tempe. Great place for a not-to-strenuous hike in the desert or a short jaunt on a mountain bike. Definitely my new hiking spot. Men's bathroom was flooded with water so I had to use my own in my conversion van.

Enjoyed my morning tea and donut by the lake. Went to hike up the mountain and saw lots of broken glass and other trash, and even what looked like paint on the rock walls. A nice panoramic view from the top!

Love this park!

There's a dog park, one for large and one for small dogs separated by a fence. There's some shade in the dog park and generally folks clean up after their pups. Sometimes you may run into someone with a dog not on a leash outside of the park. I haven't seen an issue with their recall yet but it is something to consider if your pup is an instigator.

The little pond and creek that are park of Tempe water ways is cute but it's drying up very quickly. There are still animals like fish and birds.

The playground is well maintained but can be pretty hot during afternoon hours, I wouldn't recommend anyone on it during midday.

There's a couple of shaded bbq areas, they are often used. There are other sitting areas including double person benches next to the water or park benches in the grassy areas.

You will see squirrels and some kinda critter that borrows. I love watching them. They generally stay away from people, and are quick to run up a tree or into a borrow.

There is a lovely pathway with pretty good shade coverage for walking/running,...

There wasn't much walking areas in this park/playground area. Also, there were a lot of random homeless people around, and in the early mornings they have their water sprinklers on, so the grass/sidewalk area was a bit soggy. Also, be carefiul of when those sprinklers rotate because the water can aim pretty high and far, and you might get splashed. ;) However, I am happy with the layout of the playground, so I'll give it an extra star. It has a fun rotating wheel that you can hold on to and spin on! Also, there were plenty of slides and even a climbing structure (a bit short, but good). As for parking, you can park on the street, or they also have a lot right...

I have been coming to what we knew as "Moeur Park" for 3 years now. My friends and I found this park when we were freshmen in college and now as juniors we still come here almost every week. This place is filled with so many great memories. Definitely not kid-friendly in the evening as there are a lot of people who smoke pot come there and a lot of homeless people frequent there but during the day I see a lot of kids come and enjoy the park. Why people bring their children in the late hours, even after midnight sometimes is very shocking to me but to each their own. I love this park and will continue to come here for...
