Del Taco — Restaurant in Tempe

The worst experience I have ever had at fast food. I ordered threw drive. We ordered two separate orders me and my friend through the drive-thru got up to the window they accidentally made it one order whatever that's fine they fixed it we paid for both orders they give me about a quarter of my food and then they come to my friend and then they say that they cannot make her strawberry shake you don't have strawberries after they took our payment and handed new food had time to check not that big of a deal accidents happen... however they give us quote and quote the rest of our food I ask are you sure she says yes so I drive and I'm looking at the bags and I'm like no way that's all of it so I go to go pull in the front and the manager is halfway sticking out of the window telling me to come back through the drive-thru they forgot my tacos and my soft tacos but I didn't realize the soft taco was at the time so I come back through they give me my tacos I go halfway to the freeway take a bite of a taco they didn't make them Supreme tacos like I asked for it wouldn't usually be a big deal but I ordered 12 tacos for my kids I come in and I'm telling them that they messed up and I'm also telling them that I don't have my soft tacos they admit immediately that they have my soft tacos and then the lady that took my order is looking at me and she's like what's wrong with your tacos and I tell her that they're not Supreme's and she's like well what's wrong lettuce tomato and I go yeah it's supposed to have sour cream on it too it didn't even have tomatoes on it I don't know what she's talking about. The manager then once again gets involved and asked if I would like sour cream on the side I have little kids and that's who the tacos are for so no I had them remake the tacos like she offered and then the lady that took my order in the Drive-Thru very rudely didn't really say anything just kind of like plop tacos down and so I look in the bags there's still no soft tacos so I stay out loud what about the soft tacos one of the prep line Cooks looks at me and goes oh my gosh I totally forgot I'm so sorry let me make those right now the lady that took my order then proceeds to get in my face after a minute on the counter as much as she can anyway over the counter get in my face she got in my face to not say anything I had to ask her what and then she very rudely is like what are you still doing here like I didn't just out loud ask for my soft tacos and someone just said that they're going to make them and then she literally checks me like she's going to fight me and walks away. All over a mistake that she made and I was extremely rude until she got in my face and asked me what and then I literally was like my effing tacos and she literally didn't say anything she just walked away and then the line cook after about 30 seconds gave me my tacos and I stormed the hell...

We were so excited for this place to open in January after waiting since last May when we saw it was coming. We've been here numerous times, and while we expected some growing pains from new employees in the beginning, things have never gotten better in the 8 or 9 months since. Every other Del Taco I've every been to has been super fast and/or reasonably friendly. But you cannot ever visit this location, no matter the time of day or night, and expect to be through the line in under 20 minutes. (I wish I was exaggerating, but we've timed it on multiple occasions.) The employees here constantly mess up our orders or forget items. In fairness, they are on a flight path, and during the times when planes are flying over, it's difficult to hear. But this is absolutely not all the time, and there is no screen for you to see what they've typed in to make sure it's right. And I understand that mistakes happen, but they are often super rude if you ask them to fix it, once even accusing us of ordering incorrectly (even though we had explicitly stated the specifics of the order at least three times) and slamming the window on us after giving us the bag. (We were not rude in any way or being 'Karens' - we are always excessively nice. But we did askfor part of our order to be fixed due to t being an allergy issue.) I would chalk it up to a bad day, but this same young woman is consistently rude every time we've had her and just seems like she hates life. (Hope things get better for her.) For the most part, I'm like whatever, because I generally enjoy the food and their sauce, but what used to cost us $8-$12 is now $24. And if it was just going to increased employee wages, I'd be totally fine with that, but the food quality has also gone way down (tough to go much lower for fast food). The beans are always just a dry lump now. And the fries we had tonight were just... disgusting. I don't know what they did to them. It was like they were overcooked and mushy at the same time? Our dogs wouldn't even eat them, and they'll eat anything. Really bums me out to say, but I don't think we'll be...

To the owner of this Del Taco: your workers are doing your restaurant as a service by manipulating their drive-through times. They are parking their drive-thru customers when there's absolutely no other customers in the Drive-Thru Lane even for orders that literally will come out 30 seconds later. I know this is a trick to manipulate drive through times normally this is meant to get long orders out of the drive-thru to get quick ones out sooner but the Del Taco is never that busy. I go to the Del Taco quite often as I drive Uber and stop here before going to the airport in 6 years I've never had issues until this past year or so and when they complain about it me not moving they try to play the victim how I'm making their day Terrible by not allowing them to screw over the drive-thru numbers other than that the food's been great.

I have many years of experience in the food industry at high levels. They need to be trained on customer service and not screw over your customers by making them pull all the way around to wait for food that comes out in 30 seconds a lot of times cuz I order crispy chicken tacos. Not to mention there's always sketchy people hanging out front because this area I'm sorry to say has a lot of people camping around so I rather stay in the Drive-Thru where I'm supposed to get my food and not to the front door and have them walk it out to me which is ridiculous which is against the point of a...
