Sunshine Breakfast Bar - Tempe — Restaurant in Tempe

I saw that this breakfast spot just opened up near us so we decided to try it out. I had the chicken fried steak and it was absolutely delicious. The gravy was done really well, flavorful and rich. The chicken fried steak still had that outer crunch for texture and the steak was great quality. It was really great portion size too, I ended up taking some home because it was so much food. The homestyle potatoes were really great and again portion sizes were also big on that front. The eggs were done just the way i like them, hard whites but runny yolks so it just adds that extra richness in the sauce.

If you cant tell, it was my favorite and you should order it too if you are feeling hungry and want something delicious and filling. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being one of their specialities.

Highly recommend the breakfast mule too for morning drink :D

We ended on strawberry Nutella waffle for desert because why not and it was also delicious- fresh strawberries and delicious Nutella with a wonderfully fluffy inside waffle. Will definitely be coming back for more to try other things too.

I was so very pleased when I heard Sunshine was coming to Tempe. I would go to the other location on Cave Creek Road, which was a drive from Ahwatukee. So I wasn't able to go as often. Now I will be able to frequent the Tempe location more. Needless to say, it is the best breakfast place I have been to. Their food is exceptional and the bacon is AMAZING!! I actually like a lot of the items that are offered on their menu. Yes, the prices a little high than other breakfast places, but in my opinion, it is totally worth it. Their ingredients are fresh and you can tell by the taste. The place is so cute, I love the decor. It is bright and open. It is very welcoming. I am big on service and it does not disappoint. Our server, Michelle, was absolutely wonderful. I have seen her at the other location, so it was nice to see a friendly face. She went above and beyond, constantly checking on us, refilling our drinks, and making us feel welcomed. Stopped by Sunshine Breakfast Bar expecting a good local breakfast, but left a bit disappointed. The food was okay — nothing terrible, but definitely not worth the higher prices. What really turned me off, though, is that they don’t allow firearms on the premises. This is Arizona, and many of us responsibly carry, so it felt unnecessary and unwelcoming.
