Went here on their soft opening and it was nice and packed! The service was slow and they had one person running the register while 3 others watched her, there was another register which they didn't use.
We ended up getting a spicy chicken sandwich, wings and 4 pieces of fried chicken.
The wings were the only thing I thought were good, the fried chicken sandwich lacked flavor and the fried chicken was not very good both in flavor and batter and it was almost 20 bucks for FOUR pieces of chicken (wing, breast, thigh and drum). Wings were smothered in their sauce and they put a creamy Bleu cheese sauce on top, very well cooked and seasoned! The chicken sandwich was dry and had no flavor to it. The main reason we came here was to get the fried chicken pieces though, and unfortunately they seem to be put on the back burner, no attention given to it and priced like it's something from a high end restaurant. We ended up getting two sides with the chicken (mashed potatoes were terrible and served in the smallest amount possible) the fries were good. I was very very disappointed in the food which leads me to my other disappointment.. Service
Service was terrible, our food was sent to another table and when I informed the hostess she went picked it up off the other table and put it on ours.. The other people were equally confused. It took 10 minutes to order because the person at register didn't seem to know the menu at all. Folks in front of us were visibly upset as well! It took almost 25 minutes for our food to arrive and even then they brought out part of it and said the fried chicken still needs time. A lady that ordered ahead of us got upset and started asking if they are still killing the chicken back there and another lady ended up leaving because the food was taking so long and she had to go back to work. This is all understandable as it's a soft opening but having so many employees there just looking around and the managers were asking certain folks how their experience was but ignoring us was kind of shameful.
The atmosphere was nice, clean and welcoming. They did a good job in creating a very nice inviting place.
I told my wife, just like any other place I'll give it one more chance, but this experience was so bad I really don't feel like going there again. I may end up visiting in a few weeks and update my review after they have had a chance to settle in.
Here is my breakdown
Food 2/5 Service 1/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Price...
Read moreA 2nd visit made a difference. The chicken was better fresh though still a bit overcooked. The Shrimp were much much better freshly cooked. The lesson is that to-go orders do not travel well. Eat it hot and fresh.
Holy Fry. They fry fish, chicken and shrimp among other things. They have been around less than a year and I am always on the look out for good fried chicken. You can have it as a platter, a sandwich or a-la-carte. The place is modeled after fast food joints, clean, neat with lots of natural lighting.
I ordered Fried Chicken with slaw and salad and Fried Shrimp with slaw and fries. There was nothing special about the flavors but it was pretty good at the same time. Did not like the slaw. The shrimp do not travel well, steamed, damp and unappealing by the time I got home. They put the freshly fried food in a tightly closed bag for you to take home. You can forget crispy. The chicken is $5 a piece which is high but the worst was the miniature chicken leg for $5, a wing for $5, a medium sized thigh and breast each $5. Now that is NOT worth the money. Oh, the side salad was the best thing I had.
The young lady there was very nice and helpful and expertly directed me on the menu options. The place has a fast food vibe with seating indoors.
This place is halal, which means it is suitable for Muslims to eat. The way it's killed, the properly blessed utensils used, the way the food is raised or collected and is prayed over all make it halal. Results are halal is expensive but on the bright side the food does not have any of the poisons the american food industry secretly adds to...
Read moreIt's soft opening, and usually places still have things to work out. This place is so close to being on point already. The service was wonderful, and the place looks nice. I was in a lemonade mood and got recommended the Holy lemonade. It was fresh lemonade, but it didn't really have that lip-puckering taste I like in lenonade. The watermelon and strawberry flavor was a bit subdued. I probably would have liked the mint lemonade more with how the lemonade tasted, but it was alright.
I also got their Loaded Holy Fries. This consists of fries topped with smoked mozzarella, cut-up pieces of chicken tenders, Buffalo sauce, and ranch. I got the sauce on the side. The best way to describe the Holy fries is this. There is a song that is a banger. Let's go with "All I do is win" the remix. You have all of these great components that make it a hit, and it yeah. It goes hard. Then you have one component that don't contribute anything to it. That is the chicken and Khaled on the track. The smoked mozzarella, Buffalo sauce, and fries are all amazing. The ranch was just there for the ride. The chicken wasn't hitting mainly due to it being dry. It probably will also be better to cut the chicken into smaller pieces when they go on top of fries. I hope that was just a small hiccup because you guys have something special there with the smoked mozzarella fries and the Buffalo sauce.
Edit: Came back and ordered the same thing. It was on point that time. The Buffalo sauce is made in-house, and...
