McLanes Dining Room inside Scott and White Medical Center is an unexpected Surprise. I've come to look forward to my Visits there. It's a bright spot in my medical journey. I look forward to getting lunch there when I have My appointments. Breakfast is the best, in My Opinion. The bacon is perfect! Yes, Bacon. Rudy, who makes the Omelets every morning, rivals any Chef around. Yummy Fluffy Stuffed Eggy Perfection! They make a Chicken Fried Steak and White Gravy that is, arguably, as Good as any anywhere. I really Love the Make Your Own Salad Bar. Sometimes, I get carried away, but, they are So Fresh and So Crisp I can't Help it. They also have a wide Variety of Sweet Treets, Healthy Snacks and Fruits. You can get Sodas, Juices, Milk and a few kinds of Energy Drinks. They EVEN have Ready to Go Sushi. So, if you ever Have to be at Scott and White, follow your nose down to The McLane's Dining Room and try the Special of the Day or something a la Cart. All are Reasonably Priced. Plus, They have a few self check out automated registers. You Just place your items under the scanner and it knows what you have. Just swipe and Go. Also, The Seating Area is nice and clean and has WiFi. Oh, and, Say hi to Rudy and have him make you one of...
Read moreI have been in the hospital since Friday and was NPO (no food or drink) for almost 24 hours because of a procedure I needed. When the procedure was done and the doctor said I could eat solid food the nurse informed the dining room and also said I was a diabetic. Dinner time came and went no tray. I called the dining room myself and spoke to a very rude person. I explained the situation of being npo and that I was a diabetic and was clear to eat. Very rudely she said we close in 5 minutes hurry up what do you want. I ordered a hamburger with lettuce and tomato and a carton of milk. Nothing fancy nothing complicated. Here it is 9:39pm and I still haven’t received a tray. You can’t call the kitchen to speak to someone because it’s closed. The nurse can bring me jello or pudding or crackers but I need substance. I have been in this hospital many times and the food has always been cold or so overcooked you can’t eat it. It does no good to complain nothing ever changes. So my advice is if you are a patient here bring your own food, have someone bring you food or have it delivered because there’s a chance you won’t get anything from the kitchen. If I could I would give a zero...
Read moreYes this is a hospital cafeteria but my goodness what a welcoming sight when you are camped out for hours-days with a sick loved one. Amazing selection of food for all three meals. And healthy selections as well like a salad bar and soup selection! The cheeseburgers premade and available even after the grill has shut down may be some of the best concession stand style cheeseburgers I’ve had! Lots of selections available for the grab-n-go for after hours so that you’re not totally SOL after it has closed. The worker behind the grill always friendly and helpful. Seriously this was a bright light in a rather dismal time for my family while camped out at ICU...
